Would it have benefited both men, and how would the match go (apparently, Jericho wanted to have Goldberg destroy him for 10 minutes)?

I think the ideal scenario for Jericho would be to have him antagonize Goldberg and somehow escape annihilation again and again until Goldberg finally gets the last laugh at a big PPV by destroying Jericho.
Jericho would have much more to gain from it than Goldberg, but at that point I'm not sure there was much more for Goldberg to gain. It would have been an interesting program and something to keep Goldberg busy and relevant after he squashed all the main event talent.

It should've happened at Fall Brawl. War Games was the draw, it would've worked good.
I picture it as about a 5 to 7 minute match. You can't let jericho hang too long, but let him go longer than a squash.

I know he wasn't using it in WCW but this thread made me think. Has Jericho ever countered a spear with a codebreaker?

With no more build up, Jericho doesn't get an actual match, but confronts Goldberg after a PPV title defense
Jericho jumps Goldberg at the start, gets a little heat on him, then Goldberg runs through about 5-6 destroyer spots..spear,jackhammer..it's ovah!
If done right, Goldberg is chasing this chickenshit heel/annoyance who's just barley escaping until Goldberg offers him a title shot...uh oh it's in a cage! Goldberg beats Jericho to shut him up and can now focus on other threats.

It would've looked a thousand times better if Edge didn't stop and Jericho hit the move to match Edge's momentum, but I guess that might have carried the risk of being mistimed.

I guess it would have more or less followed a similar format to Miz's initial feud with Cena, with Miz pestering Cena and having petty victories over him in his spin, before Cena finally put a stop to him.

He should've murdered Jericho, but taken longer doing it. He should've enjoyed it. Maybe have Jericho not get one hit in.

Both would have been fine. At that point, Jericho would have been a fine opponent for Goldberg. And it wouldn't have hurt Jericho to lose to the unstoppable monster.

I really liked their WWE feud leading up to Bad Blood. One of Goldbergs better matches in his last year too.
