I've seen episodes from season 2 about a million times, but think I'm going to watch some again pretty soon. Season 2 is not the shows strongest season, but a great step up from season 1 and showed where the show was going.
I thought of making this thread when randomly thinking of the episode Simpson and Delilah earlier (the one with Harvey Fierstein).

A lot of classic episodes in that one. I think my favorite ones are Dead Putting Society and Bart the Daredevil. Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment is the weakest in my opinion.

As someone who works in a supermarket, I can guarantee that the cashier's reaction to Marge eating two grapes is very realistic. The amount of ****s I would give is zero.

Is it just me, or does the very beginning of Season 3 seem like it could fit into Season 2? For example, 'When Flanders Failed' totally has a Season 2 vibe all over it.

That's why you'd see series runners come back for one or two commentaries on the DVD sets when they left that season. Don't know if they still do it that way

Season 7 is always my favorite, since it was the first one I watched every last week, without fail for well, there's a few episodes sitting on the PVR from this season.
Season 2 is great though. I think the show finally starting picking up steam. "The Way We Was" is probably my favorite.

Season 2 has possibly my favourite opening act of an episode in the whole series with the whole Mt. Splashmore sequence.

Nearly every episode of season 2 has a place in my heart. My mom taped episodes then and I would watch the tapes constantly. Got me into the Simpsons from a real young age.
Kept watching them for years. When I played the first Roller Coaster Tycoon any water ride was named 'H2 WHOA'

I've always loved their re-telling of "The Raven" in the Halloween special
I find it genuinely scary

Amazing to see the huge jump in quality over Season 1, and YET the show hadn't even hit its stride until Season 3.

Don't know if they still do it that way They do, but Al Jean has been show running it since Season 13. Also they occasionally brought back old runners to do one-offs, which is why Al Jean and Mike Reiss show up a couple of times during the Weinstein and Oakley seasons.

If you didn't want to give Bart a hug towards the end of Bart Gets An F, check your pulse. You might be a vampire.

"You are Lisa Simpson." As a young man (10-11), I got teh feelz from that. Cuz we all had that one teacher. Lucky for me, I still talk to mine. She's a dear friend now. And every time I see this episode, I think of her.
