A lot to say about this video. The song, I actually like, but it's not her best. The actual hook isn't great compared to many of Gaga's previous work, but the song has a good, epic, anthem feel. Although I think she tried too hard, like it was blatantly obvious this was written to be an anthem. Nothing wrong with that really because it gets fans. The video is definitely epic, Gaga went the extra mile in this production. It's interesting to note that this song/video had mixed reviews when it came out. It shows in the overall view count (less than many other Gaga videos) and the thumbs up/down bar. IMHO, all 5 of the singles from this album were a bit of a step down from those on Gaga's first 1.5 albums. I also have to note those stupid, stupid horns she wore in this video and around this time. Was there any reason for them? They looked... what's the word, stupid. One more thing I have to note: Overall, this was maybe the beginning of the downward slope for Gaga and her popularity, to the point where her next album ARTPOP (which I actually really like) got overlooked, and she resorted to a side project with Tony Bennett. But if her Oscar performance is any indication, Gaga's got mad skills and is prime for a comeback. But anyway. What did you think of Born This Way?

I like Lady Gaga. That's all I really have to add, but she just seems nice. Also, recently got engaged if I recall. No, not to The Night.

She could've been a huge artist and still popular today if she didn't overdue it with the costumes , everybody only focused on that

As for Gaga, yeah this song is indicative of her really buying into her own hype (I do like the song though)
I've not even heard her latest album yet

I remember watching her concert from Madison Square Garden on HBO back in May of 2011. I remember this because it was the Monster Ball tour and Born this way was the lead song. Anyway, My Grandma was up visiting and saw me watching this and was all, So, Has she shot the fireworks out of her boobs yet? I was dumbfounded but then she told me, My Grandpa and her watched this a few weeks back. Again, I had no words.. lol

It's a decent cover version, but I prefer Madonna's original.

I'm aware the song is more or less a remix of Express Yourself, but in all fairness to Madonna (whom I'm a fan of), I think Gaga's got the stronger voice.
Cheek To Cheek is probably a plus for her IMO, it proves she knows how to be a solid singer/performer without her usual shock gimmicks.

Let's be fair though, for a time, those shock gimmicks and "controversial" antics sold for her. She's got talent even when you take it away.

It's a decent cover version, but I prefer Madonna's original. Gaga has 20 times the talent Madonna ever did.

If you haven't seen her amazing performance from the Oscars, check it out.
I might not dig most of her stuff in terms of style, but you simply have to respect her raw talent.

As far as my depth of knowing gay people goes, I'm one of the few that never got on the Gaga train. or the Beyonce train. or whoever the hell we're supposed to like this year train.
I don't really fit in with my community all that much.
That being said I respected the balls it took to put out this song, the message she's getting across, (it is true btw, it's biological) and I understand why my gay friends adore it.
Gaga's always looked like a drag queen to me though. Like those dudes who are probably hot dudes, but make not very attractive women.

Gaga is the Queen of trying too hard, and this song sums her up perfectly.

Music wise, Born This Way was an EXTREMELY interesting taste. I mean you had the pop songs such as BTW, Judas (My personal favorite), Marry the Night, You and I, and Edge of Glory...but then you had other songs like Americano, Hair, and Bloody Mary that were good but so weird and experimental that I was turned off by the album
ARTPOP is my favorite, for so many different reasons: The punk rock flavor of Manicure, the catchiness of Swine and Donatella...the list goes on.

On one hand she seems like a person all about hype but at the height of her popularity she showed up at a side stage of a lollapalooza unnanounced to eat on the drums and sing with a band that she used to open for when she was just breaking in and has since surpassed by a massive margin. She even let them on her Monsters Ball tour. That's actually how I got exposed to her, was through the Semi Precious Weapons.

It's a decent cover version, but I prefer Madonna's original. Very rich, considering Madonna's long list of lawsuits and accusations against her. She writes as many settlement checks as songs.
