It looks like the whole population of Wyoming were in the audience. Not all. Didn't see Bischoff there. Must have been out on business.

Can someone please link to when the guy was being a jerk? I think that's at least going to make the thread's narrative tighter.

Whatever happened to that guy who got a whole bunch of money through Kickstarter to film that wrestling TV show that he went on and on about how he was going to revolutionize everything and be an actual alternative or whatever? Last I heard a year or so ago he was still silent about it. I didn't put money into it or anything so it's just hilarious to me that good old-fashioned carnies out to make a quick buck are still, at it's core, what really drive the rasslin' business. Jeff Katz, who basically spent the money and gave people a few awful looking matches. Didn't he make Joey Ryan SRS Gay?

I don't remember this, but good for him. I'm glad he did it.

Still better than that vaporware Florida promotion. Was that the one with the dude that was spamming the forum about how awesome that it was and it was some terrible backyard fed with the guy posting being the worst promo in the history of promos? No that was a backyard wrestling fed... I half expected that to be what was happening here. The Florida one was talk that some new company in Florida was starting and basically gave off a laundry list of things they were going to do that was some insane pie in the sky dreaming that was always like 2 weeks away from a major announcement... and yeah the guy (OP was mentioning) was a bit of a prick from what little I remember. Kudos to him for getting the show off though

One of the guys involved in that FL thing is the same guy that's on MLW radio claiming Punk's merchandise was sabotaged.

Sounds like 2015 Global Force Wrestling, which still has yet to run a show of their own.

I'm still unsure what Global Force Wrestling actually is. It's like the Prestige Worldwide or Entertainment 720 of pro wrestling.

To be fair, he did manage to draw the entire population of Wyoming to his show. That has to count for something...

About 10-15 years ago, I was interested in starting up a project where I wanted to compile as much history of the AWA as possible. So I went about trying to contact people in or around the company at the time to see if they'd be willing to help out in any way... be it with pictures, stories, etc,.. 99% of the people I tried to contact never got back to me. Most likely because I had inaccurate contact information, also... why would they care about my project? Anyway, one person DID contact me.. I can't even remember the guy's name right now... but he said he booked shows around the Twin Cities area but he was originally from my area. He extended an invite where if I was willing to do the legwork in the area, he'd try to bring some talent down and we'd book a show together... he'd show me some of the ropes, let me help out and kinda see the inner workings, be it on a small scale.. but everyone starts somewhere.
It sounded exciting, but... I was afraid I'd fall on my face. I was afraid it'd be too much work, and so I declined. I'm not saying, had I done it, I'd be working in the business in some way right now. There's a good chance I would've done the one show, then never done anything after that. But, I could've at least said I did the show. I would at least have one story to tell. Who knows? This was before the indy revival in the early 2000s, so it's possible I may have even gotten to know some of the up and comers trying to make a name, who eventually became big deals later on. They're all what if stores I missed out on just because I was too scared to even try. The possibility of failure, outweighed my desire to at least have an experience in something, at the time, I looked at as my dream job.
In that... great guy or asshole, it doesn't matter. This guy went out and did it. He may do more shows in the future, he may never be able to put another one together. It doesn't matter, because he can always look back at this and have a story that stars with, "I once put on a wrestling show... " That's why he gets kudos from me, because it takes a lot of balls to do this. He never has to wonder what would have happened, and I still sit here and think to myself, "man, if I would've just done it.... I'd at least have a unique story to tell."
