It's been ages since I saw them, so I'm going off a rough recollection of the series.

You haven't seen Freddy Vs. Jason or the reboot?

Friday the 13th part 2 Friday the 13th (1980) The New Blood The Final Chapter Jason Lives Jason X Friday the 13th part 3 Freddy vs Jason Jason Goes to Hell A New Beginning
(I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th reboot)

I sometimes feel alone in not minding the reboot.

Anyone ever done an all-day marathon of the whole series? I did it back in May 2011, it was fun but I doubt I'd attempt it again, very exhausting.

About the Jason being afraid of water thing... That really was more of a subconscious part of Jason's personality, and when you look at it from that perspective, it makes more sense.

Anyone ever done an all-day marathon of the whole series? I did it back in May 2011, it was fun but I doubt I'd attempt it again, very exhausting. I haven't done all of them at once, but I have watched them split over two days. I'll watch 1-4 then 5-8 the next day. I like that because you go from the super human, but still feels some pain Jason in 2-4 then you get to see unstoppable zombie Jason from 6-8. ANB, TNB and JTM are the three that did things most different and sadly each was missing something that kept them from greatness. ANB needed better writing, TNB needed less interference from the MPAA and JTM needed a budget. Still enjoy them though. About the Jason being afraid of water thing... That really was more of a subconscious part of Jason's personality, and when you look at it from that perspective, it makes more sense. I will always dislike it due to kills that happened where Jason went into the water and all the time Jason spent in the water during 6-8. Even if that was gone Freddy vs. Jason just didn't work for me in other ways. I like 5 and X more than most folks it's all a difference in opinion and what we enjoy about the series.

I sometimes feel alone in not minding the reboot. I really liked how the 1st scene was part 1, the pre-credits scene was part 2 and the movie proper was part 3. It had a few good kills and wasn't nearly as bad as the other horror reboots(Texas Chainsaw/Nightmare)

I didn't mind the TCM remake but didn't care for ANOES at all.

It's F13 this Friday, anyone going to watch the F13s? I already went through them all last month, so I'll probably just watch a few of my absolute favorites.

Yeah but the TCM remake trailer is f***ing great, which tops anything else from any of the movies. Sure the movie blew, but that trailer...

My list:
1. New Beginning - my absolute favorite, and my favorite death scenes 2. Part 3 - the series coming into its own 3. The Final Chapter 4. New Blood - Carrie vs. Jason 5. Jason takes Manhattan - ridiculous ending, but fun ride 6. Freddy vs. Jason - LOVED this. Hodder not being there was sad, but it was well written. Great ending. 7. Jason Lives 8. Part 2 9. Original 10. Jason X 11. Jason Goes to Hell
The last 4 are interchangeable. I like them all about equally.
The remake I'm not even listing. It was absolute shit. I renamed it "Friday the 13th: Don't steal Jason's weed". Go back and watch it again from that perspective. It's horrible. Even the Nightmare remake was better, but not by much.

For any fans, the Crystal Lake Memories documentary is a must-watch. 7+ hours long with tons of information and interviews about not only the films but also the unrelated TV series.

I'm excited for the video game supposed to be coming out later this year. Wonder if you'll get to play as Jason?

It'd be one of those situations where it'd be fun to play as him but also to play as someone (or a group) trying to get the hell away from him. Definite online multiplayer options there, though I don't know if they'd be doing that.

...which funnily enough, I've now found out is exactly what they're planning with it. An asymetrical 7-vs-1 online multiplayer, with one player as Jason and the rest as counselors. Is anyone else aware of the Friday the 13th: The Game Kickstarter? I'm joined as a backer. Has anyone done a thread on it yet? I'd be happy to put one together if not. www.kickstarter.com/projects/613356213/friday-the-13th-the-game

I'm glad that Jason Goes to Hell is usually considered one of the worst. It ripped off a very good movie called The Hidden.

Despite my thoughts back in March, I think I'd move Manhattan up a slot. JGTH (though I LOVE the Jason look, mores the pity) and V are my least favourites easy, because they just have so little (or no) Jason. At least Manhattan has plenty of the big guy.
The first Friday the 13th is my exception, because it's the original and Pamela Voorhees is so awesome by herself.
I really should get round to watching them again to get things straighter in my head.
