I love rap where it's just the MC bragging about how good he is at rapping i.e. LL Cool J's "I'm Bad" and Big Daddy Kane's "Ain't No half Steppin'" There needs to be more of that. I'm Bad is one of the greatest things that ever happened to me.

Basically confirming what someone earlier said, but all but three songs from To Pimp a Butterfly are available on iTunes. Get on it folks!

Here someone argue with me or agree with me, just A-word with me Some of my favorite hip hop songs: Insane Clown Posse - The Tower Tech N9ne, Hopsin and B.o.B - Am I a Psycho? Hopsin - Ill Mind of Hopsin 5 Wu Tang Clan - Bring Da Ruckus (To this day I have Enter the Wu Tang but have only heard this track. Heard C.R.E.A.M. but never really paid attention to it, I know, that takes away a million of my music points, but i'm barely getting into them now) Method Man and Red Man - Da Rockwilder Kendrick Lamar - The Art of Peer Pressure The Roots - Don't Say Nothin' Chamillionaire - Good Morning Chamillionaire ft. Slick Rick - Hip Hop Police Bone Thugz N Harmony - I Tried, Home, If I Could Teach The World, and Crossroads Linkin Park - Step Up (and also for the record Fort Minor - Remember the Name, Kenji, Right Now, and Believe Me) Blackalicious - Alphabet Aerobics P.O.S. - The Bleeding Hearts Club Atmosphere - God Loves Ugly and Hair Mayday and Murs - Spiked Punch Kanye West and Brandy - Talk About Our Love (Kanye is one of the best, but this song NEVER gets talked about) Drake - The Winner Spose - I'm Awesome (It's just the right amount of goofy for rap) Asher Roth - I Love College (See above) Asher Roth - Common Knowledge (When he actually tries to rap) ....damn I ranted

Didn't get too much of a chance to listen, but I really enjoyed "Wesley's Theory" and "How Much a Dollar Cost" from what little time I had. For all intents and purposes, we've got another classic at hand.

Listening to it now. Oh my god, the James Brown beat on King Kunta is sick as all hell.

Question for those familiar with DJ Quik. I'm going through random years doing random reviews on random albums to expand my horizons, and one of the first ones on my list is an album called Safe + Sound, does anyone have on opinion of it?
Edit: Also towards the top of the list is the following Raekwon - Only Built for Cuban Linx... Method Man - Tical Scarface - The Diary Da Brat - Funkdafied Slick Rick - Behind Bars Onyx - Bacdafucup Above the Law - Black Mafia Life Salt N Pepa - Very Necessary

I just listened to the full album and I think To Pimp a Butterfly is better than Good Kidd Maad City. I respectfully ask if this is true, because on one hand I absolutely LOVED "I", but on the other I can not for the life of me get into Blacker the Berry

The production on Institutionalized...bruh. It made me want to weep it's so good to my ears. Also Snoop being Snoop. Wonderfulness. I just listened to the full album and I think To Pimp a Butterfly is better than Good Kidd Maad City. I respectfully ask if this is true, because on one hand I absolutely LOVED "I", but on the other I can not for the life of me get into Blacker the Berry This album is gonna miss some people but for what my opinion is worth it's better than GKMC. It's a more mature Kendrick. You can tell he is comfortable with his ability and is doing him. Plus I love the jazz/funk vibe the music overall has. I can see it being in my rotation all year.

I listen to a lot of 70's Miles Davis, and "For Free?" and a bunch of songs on Butterfly remind me of his jazz fusion stuff from back then.

I also just think it flows much better than Good Kid.

Good observation. I was talking about it early with my girl but this is such a 90's west coast/death row album. Like I keep listening waiting for Kurupt to hop on a track out of no where.

What do you guys think of Joey Bada$$? I loved B4 DA $$. It's got a nice mid 90's Roots/Common vibe to it.

Quik is underrated. I would say he is neck and neck with dre. If not... superior in other ways. Kendrick said in an interview that Quik is on the same level as Dre , dude is crazy underrated

Good looking out on that new snoop joint. At this rate with the funk movement, it's only a matter of time before Quik gets his due. Only thing I really don't like about Snoops Peache's and Cream is that is uses the same sample Nelly Used for Hot In Here. Pharrell can do better. Besides that, I'm all for it. He dropped another track called "Awake" better than Peaches and Cream tbh and I really like that song

For those that care, Earl Sweatshirt dropped his latest album, "I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside."
Personally, I think Earl is one of the biggest cornballs in the game (same goes for the rest of Odd Future with the exception of Frank Ocean) but I know some of ya'll f*** with him.

What do you guys think of Joey Bada$$? I loved B4 DA $$. It's got a nice mid 90's Roots/Common vibe to it. He's really grown as an artist from when he first started. I personally love Bada$$ and PRO-ERA in general. Haven't heard a bad mixtape or album from the crew. Check out any of his previous releases. All solid. I'm also from North Jersey so the whole flow/production is right up my alley. If you're interested check out Capital STEEZ - Amerikkkan Korruption. He passed a year or so back but he was part of PRO-ERA. I think he had a little bit more raw talent then Joey but I love em both the same. Action Bronson - Mr. Wonderful just dropped. Anyone check it out yet? It's Action Bronson at his finest. Which means he's rhyming super smooth over nice production (almost a rockish feel) and saying the wildest shit ever. "the falcon flies back to the glove when I whistle, don't try to put me in the box like a tissue, cause I put you in the box with a pink suit, then f*** around and have some squid ink soup....you ain't a legend like yanni". Granted that was off a song called Falconry which might be the silliest on the album. I wouldn't expect much depth to the album because well...It's Action motherf***ing Bronson. But if you're a fan there is no way you'd not like it.
