The only time I liked the gimmick was when EC3 and Spud went "hunting" for Willow by an old farmhouse out in the woods, and it came off like a homage to Marble Hornets/Slenderman videos. Spud in hunting camouflage was love.
It was almost like they just didn't go far enough with the gimmick, in a weird way. It was basically "Hey, it's Jeff Hardy...he's laughing weird and holding an umbrella. Don't see that everyday." Should've played it up more if they wanted it to work, but maybe I just wanted more EC3/Spud lost in the wilderness footage.

I liked her most in the beginning, where she had the overalls and was all dorky. She was always neat, but the lesbian witch era wasn't as interesting.

I love that the announcers more or less put it over as "this is Jeff Hardy after he hit the good shit!"

Is there was any proof needed that Jeff was back on the stuff that was all you needed to show.

I really wish Hardy had stuck around as Willow in his title match with Lashley in NY - that crowd would have booed the ever-loving shit out of Willow and it would have been fantastic to hear the vile that NY would have spewed on that crappy character. A missed opportunity by TNA. I grew to not hate the character, which I guess is the best you can hope for when you put your most marketable and likeable star under a mask thinking he's a tree. Hardy made it entertaining, and Willow promos were always hilarious - for better for worse. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgPdjgOLJ4Q

Yes, he is on Jeff Hardy's tee shirt every time he enters the ring

This gimmick failed in ROH. I'm surprised he even considered bringing it back ever again.

It wasn't a bad idea and would have made more sense if he'd played on it like Muto does when he wrestles as The Great Muta. But he didn't. It was just Jeff Hardy with a brolly. That doesn't really 'equal rating's.........

Willow was the best. First he freaks out and starts acting weird for no reason and then Kurt Angle confronts him in the ring. Basically tells Willow to stop being a moron and to go back to wrestling as Jeff and Jeff does.
Never explained, never mentioned again, nobody benefited at all. Classic TNA.

I still drink to forget Willow. Willow was the best. First he freaks out and starts acting weird for no reason and then Kurt Angle confronts him in the ring. I like to think that was a shoot.

Gee, thanks for reminding me of that monstrosity. I was trying to forget it. This gimmick failed in ROH. I'm surprised he even considered bringing it back ever again. Because TNA allows Jeff total creative freedom to use any ideas that pop in his head. Jeff brought it back because he felt the idea was too genius not to. That and TNA didn't tell him no.

Also, to be fair(I do say that too often, I guess, but I do try to present the other side when reasonable), it isn't like the ROH debacle was a fair test of the character. He was getting booed outrageously before even hit the ring, and it wouldn't have likely been much warmer a reception even without the mask. Jeff Hardy was not a wildly popular man with ROH's demographic of the time, as he was seen as a guy who WWE had given many opportunities and chances and who was an eternal f***up who pissed it all away. He would only gain some good will back in later years, but at the time, he was a joke to them.

His debut in ROH was bad because only the circumstances surrounding his firing from WWE and his performance in the match but Ring of Honor at the time was ground zero of smarkdom. And Hardy was a persona non grata of smarks at the time. Hardy could came out to the ring with nude strippers and tossing 100 dollar bills into the crowd and they would still booed.
