I was thinking about subscribing, but I'm not sure yet. How is the selection for older matches such pre-1990 and for the other wrestling companies that they own the library? I know they just took down Mid-South. What about the others? What are the pros to subscribing beyond having the PPVs to watch without spending 50 or 60 dollars for each?

NXT every week is a huge incentive, and the specials are almost always worth watching. The on demand has a ton of stuff, though admittedly it does irk me to see most of the attitude era Raws not there, and no Nitros past 1996 yet, but I can see that changing soon enough.
I've had it for two months now, and I find it a good value.

The selection is okay, I guess. Like Retro said, NXT each week validates the purpose.
There are downsides, however. They're horrible when it comes to uploading new content and it's probably the worst streaming service when it comes to reliability. Over a year later, there's still a ton of bugs.

I just wish there was a way for non credit card users to get the Network. Otherwise, I would've gotten it already.

I really wish they'd have the channel option available other than Canada. You all could really benefit from it

Just buy it. The catalogue of stuff that is on there is surreal. I was one of the many angry UK fans, then it came here. I tried it and i havent looked back.

-NXT - That's the big thing that I have to turn the network on to watch every week. Great show, very simple, usually an hour but sometimes less depending. Great show to have.
-Pay per views - Sometimes they can be pointless to watch by themselves, but in the world of podcasting, you have a ton of podcasts out there that will review old shows. Podcasts like Review a Wai, OSW podcast and even MLW's VIP section where Kevin Sullivan goes through pay per views and episodes of Monday Nitro. With those, you have ways of looking back at pay per views and getting an actual context of what's going on. I don't listen to OSW but on Review a Wai, John a lot of the time will look into some of the history of the pay per view in question to get up to date on it, and bring context to it. They have an archive list on Reviewawai.com, so if you want to check out some WCW stinkers or even classic pay per views, you can get a companion piece in the review podcasts.
-There are some great documentaries. Stuff with Daniel Bryan, The Ultimate Warrior, The Shield and the Usos are must watches. I haven't checked out the Booker T one yet, but those are really good.
Other then that, it can be a time waster if nothing else is on. For me, my time waster on the network is WCW Nitro, which in 1996 I will say was better then WWF Raw at that time, and that's tough to say as a huge WWF mark back in the day. I also like it because I like to keep up with Kevin Sullivan's helluva deal and get context to a lot of what's going on and the backstage happenings.
The negatives are this:
-Total Divas is ok and it's the first season, but you could also check out past episodes on Hulu. -NXT is on Hulu as well, just not live. -Legend's House is garbage -The buffering issues happen a lot, on the X-Box 360 version at least. The pay per views might be more valuable, but they're usually more live then the WWE Network pay per views because I've had Royal Rumble entrants spoiled on me while watching the Royal Rumble. -Some of the documentaries are rough. The Countdown series one got worse with newer ones bringing in people who had no clue what was going on and are obviously scripted (I'm looking at you Summer Rae) and The Monday Night Wars documentary series sounds like propaganda, and despite WCW failings, WWE had a number of them during that time, which probably helped WCW succeed as much as it did because WWF was so poor at the time.
Anyway, it's a mixed bag, but since they have the one month no commitments deal, I suggest try it out, and if you don't feel you use it, dump it.

Ok so I started my subscription. I caught the last ten minutes of NXT. I can watch Total Divas right now. I can't seem to get anything else to start. As I see this pretty much known.

Not sure where you live or what your set up is but they just had the entire month of February free. I thought you would have checked it out for yourself then? Not trying to be a dick (for a change) - just seems an odd one to ask right after a free month trial, lol.

A month ago I would have told you it was worth it. Now I can't watch any of the old stuff without constant stuttering and buffering issues.

$9.99 for every PPV is enough for me. I'm going to watch them one way or another, and paying 10 bucks beats struggling to find a good stream online. Also has the bonus of being legal.
NXT, original programming like Countdown, and the massive archive make it a complete no brainer.

I'm a penny pincher and I find the network to be the best ten dollars I spend each month. Do it!

Just buy it. It is worth the $10 for at least a few months. I also recommend going to the thread on the board "Things I learned from the WWE Network". That thread boost the value of the network.
