I wonder if the night after WM RAW crowd, instead of going in and booing Reigns, they'd actually consider not going in and leaving RAW to be filmed in front of thousands of empty seats. I'm not recommending it or condoning it from a personal stance, but I think that would make more of a statement at this point. That's what I was saying about the Rumble this year. I get that tickets are expensive, so leaving early probably feels like a kick to the wallet, but if you're THAT disgusted and infuriated, it sends a much clearer message to just leave. Failing that, just remain utterly silent. The lesson so many fans clearly haven't learned from the Cena era is "If you react, they'll take it as a good thing." Even when Cena gets booed out of an arena, WWE takes solace in knowing that he drew a reaction, even if it was a negative one. If you hate what you see, just stay in your seat, stay quiet, until they confuse you for a stereotypical puroresu crowd. Honestly, my dream fan reaction is to have an entire three hours of chants of, "Vince, retire!" Don't think it'd actually do anything but I'm sure it'd piss him right the hell off and that's good enough.

Not even close. Average age of a RAW viewer is 41.4 years old. That means for every 21 year old that's on the net talking wrestling that means there's a 61 year old doing the same? I'm going to take a good guess and say no on that one. Sorry to say but the fans that actually do are still just a small segment of the audience. Way to many casual fans just watching RAW and that's it nowadays to even claim otherwise. You talk about wrestling as a hobby or interest. Most people still just view it as a TV show they watch every week. And those fans aren't the ones that matter. The 60 year olds probably aren't the ones subscribing to the Network, shelling out hundreds for PPV tickets, or buying T-shirts every month, so they're just a meaningless face among the masses that's opinion really doesn't matter. There's a reason 18-35 is the target demographic of basically every big company in existence. That could be one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is the group that does spend all that money and doesn't seem to be happy, well...they are still spending all that money and going to the shows. And no 18-35 isn't the target demo of every company in existence. They are the target of companies who sell so called "disposable" or "high turnover" items. The group is less likely (though it's becoming a bigger issue recently) to have acquired the amount of debt to limit impulse buys. It's not that that group has more money, they are just easier to part with it.

WWE is going the Disney route and will be pumping in the scent of cinnamon rolls during the match to help change people's reactions

"may end up as the big babyface".
That is messed up. The guy they've chosen as their new top face for the future might get cheers at the biggest match of his career. What a failure. There'd be none of these problems if they'd gone with Bryan like they should've

Yeah, the more you think about it the worse this sounds: you're booking what's clearly meant to be a career making moment (beating the Conquerer of the Streak/Cena-Killer for the title at WM? Gets no bigger) for the guy you obviously want to be the new face of your company, and you're banking on a crowd reaction that's based more in booing Lesnar than it is in cheering Reigns when the moment happens.
That's...that's bad. That's really bad.

There's just so many better choices than Roman. It's crazy how stubborn this company is.
"THIS IS THE GUY!"
"No, we like this guy better, and we're kind of paying to be here..."
"f*** YOU! WE'RE DOING IT THIS WAY!"

I'm more amazed that anyone could think Roman's reactions have been getting better, at least consistently.
Even ignoring the fact that WWE has been muting the crowd mics every time he comes out (and not even doing a good job of it), Newark was probably one of his harshest audiences since the Rumble.

In short: they might boo him, or they might cheer him. Amazing journalism. Or the most likely scenario - they chant "Daniel Bryan" during the entire main event.

The point of rigging the outcomes of sporting events is to make MORE money. How WWE, of all companies, managed to **** that up utterly baffles me.
"We'd sell more tickets and merch if D-Bry wins, and the positive fan reaction may entice others to give it a look. NAH!"
Know why Wolverine, Venom, and Deadpool were everywhere in comic during the 80's? Because fans liked those characters! You didn't see Marvel going, "You'll get Canonball, the Trapster, and Black Tom and LIKE it!"
Know why Jason David Frank has been making returns to Power Rangers for like 20 years, despite only scheduled to appear in like a dozen episodes of one season? Because the fans said, "WE LIKE THIS GUY! More, please!"

And Bryan doesn't actually lose that much (he's lost four times this year, which is only one more loss than Cena has had and two more than Reigns), so that's a monument to WWE's "ability" to not talk up his achievements to the point where some seemingly consider him some Zack Ryder-esque jobber.

I think people are going to be sincerely disappointed if they're hoping for a firestorm of abuse at WrestleMania. Could see a bit the next night on Raw, but even there it'll be quickly and simply written off as "oh, that wacky post-WM crowd!" and won't mean a single thing.
It'll be amusing if I'm wrong, I was for Brock-Goldberg, but just going on some previous times where we were supposed to be getting near-riots I think this one won't be near as bad as suggested.
I'm such a wet blanket these past couple weeks. No fun for you!

I think that's been the most depressing fact coming out of the Rumble.

We wanted to see OUR guy standing tall to close Wrestlemania 30. We can't muster such enthusiasm for thirty ONE.
