Not a PPV theme, but WWE getting the rights to use "Beautiful Day" by U2 has to be right up there.

"Girl Gone Wild" by Madonna was an official theme of Wrestlemania 28.

Maybe I'm thinking of a video package, but I could have sworn Bon Jovi's Its My Life was used a a PPV theme.

I'm still surprised they used a Peter Gabriel song as the theme for Wrestlemania. What was so crazy was that "Big Time" fit Wrestlemania to an absolute tee.

Probably not the biggest and I don't particularly like the song but on principal I still appreciate when they used Rush's "Summertime Blues" cover for Summerslam.

Not a PPV theme, but WWE getting the rights to use "Beautiful Day" by U2 has to be right up there. Along the same lines, Coldplay's Clocks, for that returning Kurt Angle video. More to the point, probably ACDC overall is the biggest, but honestly Limp Bizkit or Kid Rock, at the time they were first used.

Not exactly a band, but for several years Wrestlemania was represented by a track produced by Simon Cowell.

Wrestlemania 22 I believe Thanks for that, my bad. Doesn't help that the Mania 21 theme was also called Bigtime, but this version was from a Sweedish rock band called The Soundtrack of Our Lives. Also, while it's nowhere near the biggest, that Written in the Stars theme used at Mania 27 was played a lot before and after the PPV.

Aerosmith ("Summertime Blues," Summerslam 2004). * Phil Collins ("Easy Lover," Wrestlemania I). *Actually Rush. Thanks Some Guy. Aerosmith actually DID provide music for a WWE PPV. "You Gotta Move" was the theme song for SummerSlam 2009. This wasn't a PPV but my jaw dropped when Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" played during a Hulk Hogan tribute video on Raw last year. If you told me that a Bob Dylan song would be heard on a WWE telecast, I would have said you were nuts.

Not only that but Wrestlemania 22 was going to be the new main eventers of John Cena, Batista, Orton, Edge carrying a Wrestlemania in their sophomore season of being a main eventer. So it fit the song perfectly.

Everyone had/has this crush on "Big Time" and even though it fits, I always thought it sounded corny.
Chili Peppers for 24 was weird/cool. So was Eminem for last years.

I was floored when WWE used 'We Are Young' by Fun for the John Cena vs. The Rock hype promo for WrestleMania XXVIII, as it was inarguably the hottest song in America at that time and it never struck me as a 'wrestling' song.
