www.youtube.com/watch?v=O20Po-_kyukAll I can this is still one of the best if not best video package WWE has ever done. The Miz watching early embarrassing video's of himself on many monitors then switching over to highlights of the greats like Ric Flair, Austin, The Rock back and forth with ominous music playing in the background really gave a glimpse of the mindset of The Miz's character of what lead his drive to the top. Then Hate Me Now playing was just perfect music for his character and shown he is still carrying the same chip on his shoulder earlier to prove himself even though he's the WWE Champion. They really botched The Miz's WWE Championship run by making him feud with Lawler for like a month and a half and being over shadowed by The Rock and his beef with Cena, and ending way too soon. I always liked The Miz's title reign. Well maybe not much the reign itself but the character. I always like it when there's a heel champion who has a legit chip on their shoulder to prove themselves while acting like a obnoxious cheating dick. The Miz from 2009-2011 was just a overall a great character. A former joke character who is legitimately getting better in both kayfabe and in real life and still hasn't been fully accepted by the crowd despite his accomplishments and showing his frustrations was a really fun time.

Great promo, great entrance.
Shitty, shitty performance.
If ever was there a guy who never deserved to touch the main event of WrestleMania ever again ever, it's The Miz.

The whole f***ing point of Miz's title reign was that he didn't deserve it and he didn't deserve main-eventing WrestleMania. His character was that he was a cowardly weasel that would do anything possible to get stuff that he didn't earn.
It's the most basic form of booking in wrestling, but because it's Miz then all of a sudden the thought of a cowardly heel being world champion flies out the window.

I rolled my eyes at the video then, and still would if I watched it again. Miz was shit and had no business being in that spot, and their stupid video wasn't going to convince me otherwise.

He was an attention whore who went into violent rages whenever he felt the spotlight wasn't on him.

Amazing video. But it made him look like the face by video alone.

They didn't book him at all as a coward, and I've never understood the idea that Miz as an effective wrestler who wins matches (a "badass") is some big problem. The weird part was that they booked him as an underdog fighting for respect and to be taken seriously despite having come up in a nontraditional way..... and was a bad guy. The assholes telling him he should have given up were the good guys. Some of the most confounding booking I've ever seen in the WWE. The only way it makes sense is that they really did seriously think that fans would hate him because he didn't "pay his dues" or some other This Business kind of stupidity.

And now he's back to being a joke character. He's honestly better off than he has been since losing the title, to me. He's got heat, he's got a character, and he makes it work.

I feel like he's worse off than he's ever been. Imo his best positioning was when he was firmly in the IC/US Title picture, but now he's even lower than that. It feels like WWE doesn't care about Miz and the only reason he gets any type of character building and focus in his current position is because they feel they've invested too much in him to just write him off. Like I honestly feel that his WWE Title run saved his career and that if they never gave him that main event shine, he'd be in the lower card, banished to the announce table, or released.

Miz/WWE relationship is the most confusing to me, in an era of many messed up ones. When he's heel he's written as a face. When he starts getting over as a face they completely crap out his character and turn him into Ric Flair jr. He gets a catch phrase over as a heel and then they strip it. They hire him for his crossover appeal and then crap on him for it. I swear this company only wants to make money off certain people.

I loved Miz's title run. No shame here. They ruined him by feuding him with King. That video is one of the best things they've ever done, production-wise.

That promo was awesome, I really feel like Miz should have had "Hate Me Now" as his theme after this.

That promo bummed me out when I saw it. Just because that song would be PERFECT for when Cena finally turns heel. The lyrics fit so well for it.

I liked Miz's reign a lot, but disagree with those who say the feud with King hurt it. It was booked perfectly, and got really great reactions. I remember the crowd going nuts during the Miz/Lawler ladder match on Raw for the title.

I liked his title run and that is one of my favourite mania entrances. It's a shame how bad the match was because I remember they had a great match for the title a couple of weeks later on Raw.
