Yeah, Josh is saying something a lot of people have been saying now.
But he's in TNA now, so he's a big stupid poopyface.

Don't know why people are slagging off Josh as he pretty much saying what a lot of wrestling fans on the internet for years only he worked for the old guy.

Because he's allowed to have an opinion. And worked closely with Vince for years. Why do any of us say it? We don't know Vince and haven't worked for him. It's clear as day. He's not justifying TNA, he's just stating an opinion. And the comment above about mocking him, is a lot of how I see what goes on in TNA's threads. Even when something neat is happening everyone wants to just mock everything else. It's like a fraternity where snickers and sideways comments are version of hi-fives and slaps on the asses. "Aren't we so funny" "I know right!" Yeah Dreamer is annoying, and fat. yeah Dixie is a freaking moron. But at least their world title picture has contenders, and more than one person going after the belt instead of one guy being pigeon holed into a role he's not ready for, and a champion who shows up. Yeah James Storm is a Bray Wyatt rip off. But he's been more successful at being a cult leader, cuts normal promos, and outside of Koya the group isn't half bad. I could go on about EC3 being consistent, and tag title matches being good, but the only thing I'll complain about is Low-Ki's hair. Again. Because it looks awful. Otherwise let the flaming/mocking continue. yes Josh is a prick. But at least he's a hot prick. What's the point, though? What is he saying that's novel? As has been stated by others, he's not saying anything we haven't heard before about Vince, or observed ourselves. We're also talking about someone who, the last time he took to social media, had to tuck his tail between his legs and back off after belligerently attacking JR unprovoked for attention, writing him off with "People over the age of 60 should just shut up". We'd be giving him more consideration than he bothers to give others. If you're worried I'll hurt his feelings, then yeah, maybe I could stand to be nicer, but I honestly doubt he cares what I think. The feeling would be mutual.

Vince doesn't "get it" yet runs the most successful wrestling company the world has ever seen.

It's an ex-employee slagging off his old boss for cheap clicks while working for a worse company.
Happens all the time.
Still, gives people a chance to have a pop at Vince so at least some people are happy.

Vince doesn't "get it" yet runs the most successful wrestling company the world has ever seen. Because it's been firmly established for years as the brand, no one's really been in any sort of position to be able to threaten its position as such, and it has years worth of reputation to go on. If he were running an upstart that was putting on the exact same product it'd already be bankrupt.

If he were running an upstart that was putting on the exact same product it'd already be bankrupt. At the end of the day Vince has 2-3 million viewers a week tuning into his wrestling program. His closest competitor is TNA or ROH who are both under a million. You can say brand loyalty if you'd like but honestly people won't tune into a poor product for years and years. WWE has it's bad moments and it's good moments no doubt but to say it's successful in 2015 simply because people are loyal to them is silly I think.

The thing that gets me is, if Vince doesn't get it, what in the world makes Josh think Dixie gets it anymore than he does? The only reason he's saying this is to get more smarks behind TNA, thinking it's doing things any differently than WWE, when in fact, it's doing way worse. If Josh actually cared about "getting it", he definitely wouldn't be working there. He's obviously saying this to appease certain people. Yes, what he's saying is damn true. Vince is a dinosaur who's simply out of touch with his now-modern fanbase. It just makes what he's saying vapid and lifeless when his company is more of the same shit, only worse.
The reality is, no one in the current mainstream wrestling world really gets it when it comes to the higher ups, so keep your words soft and sweet cuz you may have to eat 'em.

Didn't Paul Heyman say that word for word a few years ago?
Yes Vince is an out of touch arrogant old fool who just doesn't get it anymore.
But to be fair Dixie is a complete idiot who has never had even the slighted idea of what she should be doing.

I mean...it's not like his point isn't valid. It is, but it's like saying "Man, Vince is a dinosaur" while cashing checks from an Iguanadon. Please, Iguanadon was highly successful for it's time. TNA is Scleromochlus at best, kind of like a Dinosaur, around at the same time but never anything like as successful and people will give you a blank look if you mention them.

I'm near convinced that TNA is based on Cobra Island and everyone from the WWE that goes there gets Cold Slithered into bitching about the WWE at every opportunity.
You're in TNA now who cares about the WWE and their problems?

CM Punk's negative opinion of WWE is only valid because he works for UFC. If he was working for TNA, then all the stuff he mentioned in the podcast would be dismissed both in the court of public opinion and quite possibly the court of law. Ok, maybe not the law, unless the judge and/or jury posts on this forum.

Apologies if this has been posted before (couldn't see it), but Josh Matthews has been having a pop at Vince. “I just look at it as someone who doesn’t get it anymore, and who has lost so much touch with what his product is. [He] didn’t like anything else that was going on so he literally created his own universe. I mean, that’s what they called it the ‘Universe,’ because he created it and he lives in that bubble.” Didn't Josh get FIRED from that same bubble? Sounds like he's just jumping on the "Vince is out of touch" bandwagon. Ground breaking stuff from Josh as always.

I'd imagine someone actually asked him about working under Vince. The interviewer probably asked about it and this was Josh's answer. If Josh just started off with "You know what grinds my gears about Vince?!?" then yeah, that's a dickish move.
Though if the interviewer were half competent at all, he should have followed up with "And do you feel Dixie Carter and TNA do 'get it?'" So hopefully he did.
Regarding TNA being just as "out of touch" as WWE, did anyone really expect Matthews to go: "Yeah Vince is out of touch and so is Dixie Carter. Both shows are crap, but I gots to get PAAAIDD y'all!!!"
Of course not. I'm sure he sees the problems but he's not going to bite the hands that feeds him.

If he was working for TNA, then all the stuff he mentioned in the podcast would be dismissed both in the court of public opinion and quite possibly the court of law. Ok, maybe not the law, unless the judge and/or jury posts on this forum. The difference between Punk and Matthews is that CM Punk has legitimate gripes. The man would constantly work through pain and WWE didn't care, allegedly he received bad medical advice constantly which could have resulted in him dying (Again, allegedly), He wasn't paid properly for work he did for the company and had issues with pay/royalties, he was put in the ring with people he deemed dangerous and put in the ring with people who were hurting him. Punk did not have a positive experience or an easy time in WWE and did not shit on Vince's knowledge of the wrestling industry. Now with Matthews you have a company stooge who is bitter because he got fired so he's going to kiss the ass of his new boss by shitting on his old one. Matthews received free training from the WWE for broadcasting (Which is an expensive college degree) and was given 12 years of experience in the field by them. He traveled the world on their dime, was paid handsomely for his work and had to take close to zero bumps for it all. He isn't in a position to be talking about Vince McMahon's knowledge of the wrestling business and he comes off as a fool who didn't learn his lesson because Dixie Carter doesn't "get it" either and that's who he's working for now.
