It's like Gareth Bale trying to trademark the heart gesture
It'll never happen

DDP did get cash from some rapper using the Diamond Cutter, though.

I hope they don't try to do the same for the "suck it" gesture.

Will they trademark the middle finger gesture? Think of all the royalties that they will receive just from the fans

A few universities might have a thing to say about this too, come to think of it.

Sign language for llama. The gesture where they touch is llamas kissing. Thanks chazraps! Yeah, there's veery very few instances where a company has successfully copyrighted a pre-existing word. Not sure if there's a precedence for this in gestures, highly doubt it will hold up.

Some quick Google searching for "trademarked hand gestures" comes back with some quotes saying that it's basically impossible to enforce, citing that not even more famous hand signals like the Vulcan Salute were able to be trademarked (to WWE's benefit at times... Vader and Big Daddy V used it in their runs). The best they can do is create a logo incorporating the hand signal and trademark that for merch.
Bullet Club ain't got nothing to sweat about here.

DDP did get cash from some rapper using the Diamond Cutter, though. That's slightly different. Jay-Z threw up the Roc on a line of clothes in his clothing line that resembled DDP doing the diamond cutter gesture on a line of his merchandise. They looked a lot alike, and it wasn't an outright parody, so IIRC it was settled in DDP's favor. This is probably the WWE making a specific Too Sweet logo with the hand sign that they intend to sell to stop shirt money coming in to others who've adopted it.

A few universities might have a thing to say about this too, come to think of it. They are just attempting to trademark it for pro wrestling related uses.
