Wow, do they have a bunch of monkeys putting this show together?
That main event infuriated me. They say they are going to try to cover up the graphic content. The screen goes black and white...for two seconds before going right back to color for the rest of the matches outside of a couple flashes. They couldn't even be consistent with it. What's even the point? Totally took me out of the match and ruined the flow.
On top of that, ECIII finally cuts Spud's hair after being a super douchey heel. This is a major, major angle. Spud is caked in his own blood, hanging upside down after being shamed in his home country. The TV audience gets to reflect and ponder on this huge storyline devlopment...for five seconds before the broadcast ends. Ridiculous. They obviously didn't care enough about the angle to stay with the scene for a minute or two and let the audience digest the importance of the moment so why should I? You couldn't even let the camera linger on a bloodied Spud? Nope. Who cares, right? It's just another angle, no need to give it any more time than you would a random Knockouts beatdown. After all, when has an image ever created powerful and lasting emotions in a storytelling medium?
It's the little production stuff like this that drives me nuts about TNA. It's so basic but they fail at it time and time again. Nothing on Impact ever makes an impact and the production is a big reason why.

I think they let the match linger on for a long time actually, but yeah....cutting away so quick just to fit the hour and the black and white kinda sucked.
But comparing with the two channels that TNA has been on, I have more of a feeling this was another Destination America thing with the black & white tint. Ultimately, no one has the balls anymore to show a man bleeding profusely.
But in the end, we had a great match and while you are finding negatives, that doesn't take away what was definitely match of the year for TNA so far.

I feel like this wasn't a Destination America thing because they did this exact same thing on Spike. It annoyed me there and to see them doing the same stuff on a different channel set me off. They haven't learned a thing. THEY DID SHOW A MAN BLEEDING. That's my issue. They cut to black and white for absolutely no reason. If you're gonna do it, be consistent. To just randomly have the screen change colors made the whole thing absurd and took away from what was a fantastic angle. The main event was a good match that should have been great but was hindered by the stupidity of the production. Say what you will about WWE but this shit would never happen there. They know how to give angles time to breathe. Often, too much time to breath but still, that's better than this.

The thing that gets to me is that they didn't place a warning before the show began, they didn't place it before the Robbie/Brooke match, they waited before the main event to say "this show may contain graphic stuff, view discretion is advised".

When they had an angle earlier in the night where someone bleed, haha. So stupid.

I have to think that TNA is doing the frantic production thing on purpose, because they legitimately think this chaotic style of moving to segment to segment and not letting anything stick is a good thing for the product.
They have been doing this shit ever since Impact has been a thing. It's like they've never grasped the fact that they are a two hour show, and can get everything across without making it look like you are cramming as much content as possible, even when you only wrote a show deep enough for an hour's worth of time.

There's a reason why one of the most prominent internet memes regarding TNA has always been "TO THE BACK!!" Nothing is allowed to linger and give the audience an image to remember. When's the last time this show has ever had an image that stuck in your mind?

See UPN when that Muhammad Hassan episode happened.

When I mention images lasting in your memory from a wrestling show, I mean one that you were able to ponder and digest long enough to remember forever.
For instance: When I mention Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and The Undertaker's Symbol. Everyone knows what I'm talking about. It's an image everyone remembers because the were allowed to decipher it before Raw went off the air. Now, would you have remembered it if Taker put Austin on the symbol, had it raised and then immediately cut away within 3 seconds? No.
It's something TNA has never learned. They didn't learn it during the Fox Sports era, they didn't learn it during the Spike TV era, and now it looks like they haven't learned it now in the Destination America era.

This was years ago but remember when Spike Dudley dove from a really big height towards Raven and Abyss, it wasn't shown because the camera focused on Jake Roberts, the guest ref, face. It was on BFG 2006. Maybe it's the same crew lol

TNA aren't alone. WWE are releasing DVD's with blood scenes put in black and white.
I also just watched this week's NXT on the VOD section and DURING the show, they have an ad for next week's NXT which features a snippet of Kevin Owens doing a promo on Riley that was later in the show that I was watching then talks about Alexa Bliss winning and facing Sasha Banks when it hadn't happened yet.
Production in wrestling is dying.

Just watched it on Challenge in the UK and, unless I missed it, we didn't get the black and white thing. The commentary mentioned they were going to take steps due to the graphic nature, then things just carried on as normal.
We did get the viewer discretion warning, but because our ad breaks don't line up with the US ones, it ended up just randomly appearing in the middle of the match.

Yeah I take my hat off to Challenge for showing it without censorship over here. When the show is going out at 10pm I don't think there is really any need to censor it.

Yet a week or two ago, we had Eric Young and Dreamer bleed all over the place without a warning

TNA's Production Team has always been horrible. For years now they've missed big moves because they feel the need to cut to a random shot of the crowd or the commentators or someone standing at ringside.

Yet a week or two ago, we had Eric Young and Dreamer bleed all over the place without a warning I was thinking the same thing. The only explanation I can think of, is that previous matches like that caused Destination America to put the warning up and twice, use the black and white filter.
