Results
Pre-Show: The Uppercats (Cesaro & Tyson Kidd) def. Los Matadores (Diego & Fernando), The New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston), & the Usos (Jimmy & Jey) to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships
The eclectic duo of Kidd and Cesaro proved their worth atop WWE's tag team division by retaining their coveted title against three of the best teams in WWE at the moment, electrifying the fans in WrestleMania's pre-show bout.
Randy Orton def. Seth Rollins
For all of Seth Rollins' scheming and working to undermine the returning Randy Orton, he didn't count on the Viper being as vicious as he has ever been before in his first singles competition since returning from an injury caused by Mr. Money in the Bank last November. Orton struck with an RKO out of nowhere after reversing an attempted Curb Stomp by Rollins to get some much-desired retribution.
Daniel Bryan won the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
It's certainly no Miracle on Bourbon Street, but the leader of the Yes Movement will be more than happy to take it. Daniel Bryan literally ascended above eight other worthy competitors to capture the Intercontinental Championship in a match that many believe stole the show inside Levi's Stadium.
Ryback won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
This year's edition of the prestigious battle royal named in memory of the great Andre the Giant saw Kane emphatically handing in his pink slip as Director of Operations against the Big Show, Axelmania running wild... or rather mild, Damien Mizdow finally standing up to The Miz, among others. But in the end, it was The Big Guy, Ryback, who'd step up to the plate and win the Andre Rumble.
WWE welcomed Arnold Schwarzenegger, Madusa, Larry Zybysko, Rikishi, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Ray "The Crippler" Stevens, and Connor "The Crusher" Michalek to the WWE Hall of Fame
John Cena def. Rusev to win the United States Championship
As always, the Cenation leader brought his best effort at WrestleMania to wrest the U.S. Title away from its Russian champion, ultimately taking down Rusev with two straight AAs to bring back the U.S. Title to American hands. Following the match, Cena celebrated as only he could, with a massive American flag unfurling behind him in a bit of a karmic statement to the Russian Super-Athlete.
Bray Wyatt def. The Undertaker
A year removed from having his legendary streak broken at the hands of "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar, the Undertaker found himself having to deal with the eerie Bray Wyatt in a spook-filled match. The New Face of Fear would shockingly hand the Undertaker his second-straight defeat, courtesy of some "assistance" from the urn apparently belonging to Sister Abigail.
Sting def. Triple H (Career vs. Career; The Authority no longer in power
In a match no WWE fan ever thought they'd see, it was the legacy of a WCW icon against the seemingly-unstoppable power of The Authority's patriarch in one of WrestleMania 31's most anticipated matches. The Game would use all his tricks in his arsenal to ensure that Sting's first ever WWE match would be his last, but it would be ultimately to no avail. The Stinger brought an end to the COO's hopes for a victory - and subsequently, the power The Authority had in running WWE as they saw fit - with the Scorpion Death Drop heard 'round the world.
Paige def. Nikki Bella to win the Divas' Championship
In her first WrestleMania, Paige didn't disappoint, finally reclaiming her Divas' title from Nikki Bella in convincing fashion. Following the match, the Bellas would try and ruin Paige's moment in the spotlight, but a returning AJ Lee ensured that the Bellas' scheming would go nowhere.
Roman Reigns def. Brock Lesnar to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
With a chance to prove the naysayers wrong on the Grandest Stage of Them All, Roman Reigns had one hell of a fight against the current World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar. It was a match that saw both men throw everything at one another, complete with Brock and Reigns kicking out of each other's finishing maneuvers. But in the end, a mistake on the part of Brock opened up the opportunity for Reigns to hit a Superman Punch, before finishing the match with a Spear to honor not only his family, but to also prove himself as "The Man" in WWE.
Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship declared No Contest
Not content with ending his WrestleMania night on a defeated note, Rollins tried to spoil the new Champ's victory celebration by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on a battered Reigns. However, true to the word he had promised the moment Rollins "earned" that contract last June, Dean Ambrose came to the aid of his ex-Shield brethren and sent Rollins retreating. As the curtain came down on another WrestleMania, the final moment seen worldwide by millions upon millions was Reigns relishing his WrestleMania moment with a man he once and always will consider a "brother".
