TNA star Kurt Angle says he has one, maybe two years left in pro wrestling before he retires. Angle's new one-year deal with TNA expires in January 2016, then he will either retire, re-sign for one more year in TNA, or have a farewell year in WWE.
"I've been debating. I think it's time for me to hang it up. If I do go one more year, that would be it," Angle told MMA reporter Ariel Helwani on the "MMA Hour" podcast this week.
"I feel good about my career and going out with TNA. If I decide to go to WWE next year, that will be my last year."
Angle says he is contracted for 40 dates this year, which is a part-time schedule on paper, but it's essentially a full-time schedule based on TNA slashing the number of shows they've run to start the year.
Reflecting on his career, Angle says he believes he's had a better career in TNA than in WWE based on the total number of "good matches" in TNA. Angle listed matches with Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, and Bobby Roode as TNA highlights.
Angle added that at one point he thought it "sucked" that not as many wrestling fans were seeing his matches in TNA, but he's okay with that now.
Angle says he will add another good match to his TNA resume when he challenges Bobby Lashley for the TNA World Title Friday night on TNA Impact.

40 dates in TNA in 2015 should allow them to film about 27 years of Impact.

The year is 2029 and a 60 year-old Kurt Angle is rumored to just have one or two years left in pro wrestling. Rumors that he will battle Robbie E at Slammiversary in a wheel chair match are unconfirmed.
Really, the most ridiculous thing about that hyopthetical is that TNA will still be around in 2029.

Angle-Bryan Summerslam 2016 confirmed. Not happening, Angle already tried to get back in WWE this last time and they basically repeatedly told him they're not interested.

Hasn't he been saying he has one year left in him and then he's hanging it up for the past five years?

WWE will never allow him to perform in the ring. Angle's best bet at this point is to retire in TNA, perhaps at a big event in Pittsburgh, and then hope for Vince to give him the nod for the HOF and DVD retrospective.

Poor Kurt he's not gonna have his retirement match in front of thousands of people cheering on a big stadium He gave everything for this f***ing joke of a company, his body and his health, he even lost his family.

Could see him back in WWE as a manager. Lana, Zeb and Heyman all add to the wrestlers they manage so why not get one of the best talkers in the business to help out? Could see delusional, goofy Kurt managing a heel or srs, patriotic Kurt managing a face.
Heel Kurt managing a stable (the Angle family?) would be grand as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing him finish his career in the WWE. There are a few dream matches I would love to see. I know Kurt is pretty banged up, but he is still fun to watch and can probably do a good job with a lighter schedule.

Angle's retirement match will be in front of 700 people at the Hammerstein Ballroom. It's a damn shame as well.
