They probably got a ton of bitching from Destination America regulars, who were losing out on precious ghost and fishing programming.

Moving the Unloaded replay is a smart move. Why watch the normal show when not 24 hours later there is an expanded replay? Plus having the replay before the new episode lets people who skip or miss a week (which is more and more people) catch up.

They probably got better ratings for the friday Unlocked than saturdays.

Usually when a show gets moved to a different day, it's a sign that they are getting the axe after the end of its produced episodes.

From noon ET to 3/4 AM? Damn, Destination America must be losing faith fast for that dramatic a change.

So the TNA schedule right now goes as:
7 ET Fri: Recap Airing 1 9 ET Fri: Impact Airing 1 11 ET Fri: Impact Airing 2 1 ET Sat: Recap Airing 2 3 ET Sat: Greatest Matches (2 eps)
so there's 10 straight hours of TNA

I know this automatically makes everyone think "OH MY GOD DESTINATION AMERICA IS NOT HAPPY WITH IMPACT!" but it makes me wonder if they're happy enough with the Friday night airing that they think Unlocked will get more of a bump on at 7PM than early on Saturday AM. It may end up being a smart move where we'll see a lot of PR-ized "viewership numbers" about the total viewership of TNA for the night.

On the one hand, having last week's episode of Impact right before the new episode would be a shot in the arm for storyline purposes- by showing what happened last week before the new episode, it can be easier to keep storylines going. On the other hand- if you can't get good ratings for pro wrestling on Saturday mornings, when the hell are you GOING to get ratings for it?

In optimisitc defense of the TNA/DA relationship, there was a lot of padding and redundancy with the old arrangement.

Friday nights aren't generally great nights for shows to get good ratings, something that TNA has always had a problem earning. It's not a death sentence, but it's not exactly great news.

I don't think the issue is them not getting viewership for Unlocked on Sat. mornings, but it actually being too good. They were undercutting the first run Impact by having a replay with added stuff airing less than 12 hours later. By shifting Unlocked to Fridays before the new episode, they you'll get the people that need Unlocked to catch up, the people tuning early for the new show and you're no longer hurting the new show by having a Replay+More so soon after it. Plus Fridays have been doing pretty bad so this seems like a gimmick to help boost that.

I do hope it's because, as many pointed out, that it is for the benefit of Impact.
