May he RIP, and I remember living in the dorms watching AAA and the Los Perros del Mal feud against Psycho Circus it is what made me watch Lucha more. I even told my roommates when AAA was on not to bother me

I sent a link of one of the close up videos to a relative who is medically trained and she notices blood around his eye and said that could indicate an injury other than his neck as in brain or heart.
Or he got a cut during the match, who knows.

Terrible, absolutely terrible, 35 is still so young with a lot of life before you.
People who go on and say wrestling's fake, yeah its a show, yeah its scripted, but the moves are real, the blows are real, and even the simplest of moves can end life just like that.
Rest in Peace.

Was not expecting to see this after coming on the forum tonight.
May Aguayo rest...

I'd be lying if I said I've ever seen his work (I'm not a watcher of Lucha) but damn, this is really sad and shows just how easily things can go wrong in the ring. Even the most basic of stuff can end a life and it's scary to think about.
Nobody should die at 35.

It has made the BBC News channel's ticker at the bottom of the page.
Crazy how viral it has got.

Right now, I have two thoughts.
One, am I wrong in thinking there is a photo of a wrestler bowing before Misawa's body in the ring? Might be worth adding that to the thread. Always think of that image at a time like this.
And I cannot get the voice of The Undertaker from the classic Attitude ad out of my head: "When you step through those ropes, bad things do happen."
RIP and prayers to all who need them.

Great, now ESPN carried the thing and the only reason for them talking about it was because Rey Mysterio was an ex-WWE guy

Awful tragedy. Feel so bad for Rey right now and of course this guy's family and friends. This was a tragic freak accident. Everyone reporting that Rey "killed" Aguayo should be f'n ashamed of themselves. Opportunistic clickbait scumbags have been crawling out of the woodwork on twitter and elsewhere.

Don't think I could ever watch that video Sadly did.....not knowing what happened and saw some Spanish link. Saw Perro slumped over and I was like "Oh no". Immediately I checked and found out he died.

There's no way that I can bring myself to watch a video of such a thing.
Such a horrible tragedy. Can only imagine how Rey must feel right now.

RIP
I read on a BBC article that prosecutors in Mexico are investigating to see if they can get a manslaughter charge. Didn't say if the charge will be against AAA or Rey. I don't know how the law works in Mexico (something to do with paper bags and currency I think ) but that just seems wrong to me. Considering the amount of corruption and violent crimes in Mexico they would go after a wrestling promotion and or a wrestler over a freak accident.

Cause of death was a stroke due to damage to the cervical spine. He also suffered from whiplash.

Saw something about this on the front page of AOL's site when I signed into AIM. Just crazy.
To their credit they don't do the, "Mysterio killed a guy!" route with it, actually only bring him up in passing in the article.

Yeah, it almost looks like it could have been a basilar skull fracture but that would have been even bloodier. From how cyanotic he was at the end of the video it's obvious that something affected his respiratory center in his brain stem, whether from the fracture directly, the whiplash, or ischemic damage.

The article on ESPN is saying the "kick" is what did the damage, but take that with a grain of salt.
