That's a shame. I had read a number of years back someone won an auction for the stadium for like 500,000 USD (Maybe below that) and had fixed the problems running I believe soccer matches there? That wasn't that long ago either it was definitely within the past 10 years.
Don't know what they're doing with it now but in those pictures it looks like you'd need at least a few million dollars to get the place running again and with Detroit being the worst major city in America I can't see anyone fixing the place up and running significant events from it (Profitable ones at least)
WWE probably should have looked into buying it for a physical WWE Hall Of Fame site with the occasional wrestling event. Could have been cool but again being in Detroit means not a whole lot of profit.

They really should knock it down at this point.

Sad.
But large abandoned decaying structures are tragically just part of the scenary in that city.

They really should knock it down at this point. That costs money to hire a crew to do it. Money that Detroit doesn't have.

These photos were taken the day after Hogan slammed Andre, right?
(Seriously though, it's a shame that it looks as bad as it does)

That's sad. I look at those pictures and I think about the wrestlers that are no longer with us from WM3 as well

Can't believe how much the place has gone down hill. It's only been a year since it hosted Wrestlemania 30, brother.

This is the aftermath from the power of Hulkamania pressing the 17 foot tall, 2,300 lb stinky, nasty, wart infested giant over his head and slamming him through the ring. He died two days later and the Silverdome was never the same again, Jack.

For the record, guys, the Silverdome is in the city of Pontiac, which isn't exactly right around the corner from Detroit. Pontiac might actually be in worse shape than Detroit, right now.

This is what happens when you slam a 900 lb. stinky giant, the earth rumbles for years before destroying the stadium at the epicenter.

Strange to see it without the dome. Looks a lot like the old Meadowlands Stadium without its roof.

Yep, and it's a shit hole that had to choose whether to drop their fire or police department. I think they chose fire because there's too much crime. Say what you will, about Detroit, but I live here and have been watching the city change for the better, slowly but surely.

I've never been to Detroit so I canonly speak from what the outside perception is. If Pontiac is worse than it (I've never been there either) then it's good they kept their police department. I'd imagine it would be a lot like Mad Max otherwise.
