The first thing that came into my head seeing those pics were Ellie's bad jokes and her telling Skelesser to "suck mah dick", lol.

Why do they build enormous stadiums that are uneconomical to upgrade in shitty locations?

Pictures like these kinda make me hate modern day professional sports. I hate how sports franchises get a stadium built only to tear it down for a new one only 20 years later. Really, how many arenas and stadiums have been torn down the past 30-35 years in favor of a shiny new facility that would've been just fine if it were renovated instead? Wouldn't you think it'd be cheaper to fix up an old stadium or arena than build a new one?

looks like something out of The Last of Us. jeezus. That explains it. There are clickers in there and they're just scared to go in there and demolish it.

It's weird to see an outdoor stadium unintentionally become an outdoor venue

If you just search "Silverdome" on YouTube, all sorts of urban explorer-type videos come up. Really sad stuff.

This is ridiculous, but I get more pissed when they tear down places that have real historic value like the original Yankee f'n Stadium.... I don't care how cool the new one is. How can a city afford to lose a piece of history like that?

I am still kinda surprised that it wasn't considered a historic building.

How can a city afford to lose a piece of history like that? It least you didn't spend years watching it collect dust before it finally got tore down, like Tiger Stadium. I'd always let out a sigh when I'd be downtown and see her just sitting there, vacant. Now it's just another empty spot in the city, I love.

I knew the place had fallen into disrepair in recent years, but I didn't know the roof had collapsed. Kinda surreal photos.

This is how I felt after so long the old Arena the Blues played in. It just sat there and nothing was done with it. All we got was rumors of it becoming this or that. Instead the blew it and put in a business park. It took a long time before anything was done with it. Busch Stadium didn't have that faith. It was torn down in sections as the new stadium went up. I miss old Busch but it had a lot of issues which why a new stadium was needed. The dome isn't that old and there going to replace it or loss the NFL team. I do like the new outside Stadium and all but why should the city and state pay for it all?

It's sorta what you think that fictional Gotham stadium would look like post Bane.

Detroit is so fascinating. I love urban decay and every once in a while I'll hop on street view in Google Earth and take in the depressing sights in and around Detroit. It's an urban explorer's dream. In satellite view you can see tons of huge neighborhoods with many blank lots where houses used to be, then you zoom in on the ground and everything's overgrown and the inhabited houses are dilapidated. I love that shit. I can't believe how much damage Hogan did with that bodyslam.

Walked right past it ten years ago and I had goosebumps just looking at it.
