Just curious who folks think are some fat guy wrestlers who were actually in good shape as well as ones who were legit in awful shape.
For good shape I think Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow were in tremendous shape. Sure, they were still fat but had a lot of muscle as well and could really move.
For bad shape it's tough to say. I actually thout about making this thread when thinking of Typhoon. Hs body used to look really similar to Earthquakes, who I know also was a legit sumo athlete at one point and looked in good shape. However, by the time he went to WCW as the Shockmaster/Uncle Fred it looks like he traded a lot of his muscles for fat.

Mick Foley was in relatively good shape until the last year or so of his WWE run.
He could run/bump around the ring convincingly enough for 15-20 minute s a night

As big as he got, Adrian Adonis still moved around the ring better than most half his size.

Fat guy in bad shape begins and ends with the American Balloon I was going to post a pic of him in the OP, but then I'd actually have to look at a pic of him. As big as he got, Adrian Adonis still moved around the ring better than most half his size. Are you sure about that for all of Adonis' later career or are you just talking about around WM 3 which most people are most familiar with Adonis from. I'm pretty sure I've see footage long past WM 3 where Adonis is considerably fatter and far less mobile. I remember it looked pretty sad.

Shinya Hashimoto: His match with Nobuhiko Takada was at his peak in terms of condition. He looked like the jolliest chubby dude you've ever seen but when he wrestled, he can dish out an ass kicking like no other. Especially with those super stiff kicks he delivered.

Loch Ness was in terrible shape in WCW.
Earthquake was a huge man but always moved so well in the ring.

Fat guy in bad shape begins and ends with the American Balloon Is this a pun on the word "shape"? Because he wasn't unathletic.

As big as he got, Adrian Adonis still moved around the ring better than most half his size. I thought of Adonis immediately when I saw the thread title. Gorilla Monsoon comes to mind. And no discussion about agile big men would be complete without Big Bubba Rogers/Bossman. That guy could definitely move.

There was a point in time, late 70s, early 80s, when Dusty Rhodes could work hellacious hour-long matches and at one time, was able to jump clean over the commentator table (not a diving jump, he landed on his feet on the other side).

I'm pretty sure I've see footage long past WM 3 where Adonis is considerably fatter and far less mobile. I remember it looked pretty sad. Look up his AWA work post-WWF (with Heyman as manager). He was still flying around the ring then. Maybe after that the weight started to affect him more, I haven't seen any footage of him after he was fired in 1988. Then again, I don't think there's much footage of him after then... he died in an automobile crash going to (or coming from) a show in Canada in '88.
