My only criticism is that he isn't already world champion and main eventing every Wrestlemania for the next 10 years.

I think he could use a new finisher. Not that I dislike it, I do like the move, but I feel like him and Itami used it as placeholders until they found a better fit. No Bloody Sunday, either, unless he renames it. Either he could switch to that with the renaming or back to the Devitt's End Fujiwara Armbar.

Boy, I feel like I'm the minority on this one. I love the entrance. I love the demon paint. All of that is great. But as for him, him as a talent, the dude just does not engage me at all. Nothing he does looks dangerous. Nothing he does looks like it hurts even a little and the flying double stomp is just such a boring finisher right now. Add to that the fact that the dude isn't a very good promo and I'm just like...eh. So it's puzzling to me to see many fans talk about how this dude is going to be HUGE. I feel like there's real energy around the guy, some real hope in him as a big star of the future. And that's awesome! I'm always glad when people see a huge star on the horizon for them to get behind. That's great. So, let's talk about Mr. Balor. If you're a fan...why? What is it that makes him so cool? If you're one of those "he's a future star!" fans, you should tell me why! Why does he excite you so much? Maybe you can get me into him. Finn's been above average, but Prince Devitt was awesome. Dailymotion is your friend. Look up Devitt vs PAC at least.

I appreciate all the responses though! I looked at this as a chance to get people to talk about a wrestler they enjoy more than a "this guy sucks" and that's what I'm getting.

I think it's a combination of a good workrate + body + Irish brogue-ness + the paint (after WK7) + a general charisma and aura he has about him. "Destined for greatness" comes to mind. He still reminds me very much of Norman Reedus' character in Boondock Saints. Not that that's a bad thing, I just like pointing it out.

I keep hearing he's going to debut after Mania, I think Zayn and Neville are more ready and have done everything they can in NXT, I'd even go with Tyler Breeze or Vaudvillians over Balor.
He has proved himself elsewhere, but with the WWE style and time frame a new superstar is given in an episode of Raw or Smackdown he still needs tweaking. He would've been perfect for The Shield if he came in earlier, everyone in that group evolved as it went on.

I agree with you about Neville, Breeze & The Vaudevillains, but Zayn has a hell of a lot more to do in NXT... I mean he's in the middle of a blood feud ffs. Balor would be second in line IMO after Neville. That is if they're keeping NXT a true developmental... if it's essentially becoming it's own brand they should keep the core Balor/Itami/Neville/Zayn/Breeze/Owens group around (and put Cesaro & Kidd back there as well).

I'm not sold on him myself, he looks like a million dollars, can wrestle, and the body paint stuff is vaguely cool but I need to see more before I anoint him as a legend in waiting or whatever. He's just a workrate guy for me right now, no real character, average promo etc. Hopefully they do good things with him because he should be a star though. Undecided.

His counters and kicks are out of this world, his work of running the ropes into chain wrestling & submissions are unlike anything I've ever seen. He can work in the air or on the mat. He's been successful both face and heel.
His match with Kevin Owens-
He sold a worked injury & used it as a storytelling device. That story allowed him to lose clean, but remain protected as a top babyface (something WWE has completely forgotten how to do) and elevate the heel champion.
Everyone likes what they like & I get that. The only limitation I can see with him is that there are guys on the main roster who simply couldn't keep up with him athletically. He's a good enough Pro Wrestler that he would sit in a room & figure out the way to put on great matches regardless.

I'm always a big backer of European wrestlers, because so few have ever made it to the top in WWE (and from memory, none have ever held the WWE Title). "Don't forget about me fella!"

I hope Fergal Devitt/Finn Balor will be the next big superstar, when drafted to one of the major brands - Raw/Smackdown. Although saying that he has stated in interviews that he has waited fourteen years for this opportunity and that he does not want to rush into transitioning over to Raw/Smackdown, he is very happy working in NXT and feels that they are building momentum and feels that eventually it will be much more than just a developmental brand for the WWE. You guys might find this little documentary interesting, if you are a Fergal Devitt Fan. (It documents his sort of farewell tour before signing to the WWE. - JAPAN/UK) See Here- www.dailymotion.com/video/x2cv9wi_fdd_tv?start=3

easily the complete package in wrestling.
hot as hell. great body. connects with the fans. is creative and knows how to emote and get lost in a character. and he's f***ing IRISH.

Finn is a good British wrestler but I'd like to see them push scottish wrestlers like Sheamus or Irish ones like Kevin Owens.

Can anyone describe his personality without mentioning the word "talented" or what he looks like?

The guy just comes off as a star. From his in-ring to his general look. I'll grant you that we haven't seen much from him in the way of promos, but I don't think he essentially needs to cut particularly long ones.
I'd compare him to Jeff Hardy in that he has a strange presence and charisma to him, and that guy certainly wasn't known for his mic work. Except unlike Jeff he has no demons holding him back.
There's no such thing as a surefire star, especially in today's environment, but I think he might just be the closest we have to a sure thing.
