Yes and no. I think the media is starting to get a bit better about it as roles within it start to get filled by a younger generation that would have been fans during the Rock n' Wrestling years, but the average person on the street seems unchanged for the most part.

My personal experience has detected a softening of the "Lolz Wrestling is fake" mentality in the recent past.
It seems like the worst culprits are UFC fans. When Punk signed for UFC, all I saw were comments about how wrestling is gay and how people who watch it are subsequently gay.
I can see why UFC fans think that, I mean us wrestling fans watch a sport which features muscly men in trunks rolling around with each other, whereas UFC fans watch a sport which features muscly men in trunks rolling around with each other.
