I said it in the Raw thread, but this is totally what it reminded me of:
I love the Brock killed the commentary team, but good grief, poor Byron just is/was lost out there.

It made me miss the usual Cole/JBL/Lawler mess.

To be fair, that's the worst possible scenario for a RAW debut.

He is the best announcer WWE has. I wish he was the voice of WWE.

I can't watch cause at work...
But I still wish Scott Stanford was announcing main shows.

He was doing pretty bad. He didn't even react when Neville debuted. Say what you will about King but commentary is already much better with him out there.

I still think Byron is really good, I don't know that there was a way to successfully call a show by yourself while also playing up the whole "Well, everyone just got slaughtered here" angle.

Well, that was kinda the point. They obviously wanted it to be super awkward for a bit to sell the announcers getting murked by Brock.

I noticed once Jerry came out with him he was doing much better. I think Saxton is just better when he's got someone to feed off of, and some announcers/commentators are just like that. They might have put Saxton by himself to see how he would float. Once he was sinking they had Lawler come in and save him. Saxton from what I've seen has not been fantastic but he was never THAT bad. They should have had Scott Stanford out there.

I just didn't get why he was mumbling. I know it must be hard to commentate solo, along with Vince yelling in your ear, but he just seemed like he had no idea what to say most of the time.

I'm not even really trashing him, doing it solo had to be rough; I just thought the comparison was funny.

He makes that announcer on NXT (Rich? Tom?) sound like Gordon Freaking Solie. It was brutal. I could have done a better job. Seriously. Made me long for Mike Adamle. Never thought I would say that.
Edit: In fairness, it had to be awkward for him standing out there alone. Did he even have a monitor? If not, then he had a severe handicap. But come on man, you just walked into one of the most exciting RAWs ever the night after Wrestlemania and you're calling it like a card game. Show some excitement for what is going on around you!

One of the worst attempts at announcing I've ever heard.
Seriously, I've never been even close to a fan of the regular announce team, but tonight gave me more appreciation for them than I thought I'd ever have.

I feel like his marching orders per Vince yelling in his ear were "Sound sad damnit, your colleagues just got killed! Be emotional!"
