I was fine with most of it till the "we are awesome chants"
It shows that you're more interested in being the show instead of watching or even participating in the show.
Sure, they have a right to, but I also have a right to think very lowly of them.

It makes me honestly wonder how much they even meant their boos or if they just thought it was funny.

Those people paid out of the ass to be there. If they want to chant "Roman is a Sounding Goose" they can. And they will. So if I paid money to go see a high school play, does that give me the right to do what the crowd did during the main event? Because if money in the only factor, then this behavior I guess should be allowed anywhere as long as you've paid. And yes I know they're two different environments, but they're still two sets of people trying to put on a show for you, they at least deserve respect. Wrestling is just as much built around booing people or chanting things as it is cheering, though, and why would people boo who they like or cheer who they don't just because it fits the established narrative? They're really not doing anything too removed from the format, particularly with WWE actively encouraging these reactions by having the commentators laugh at them or zooming in on the crowd doing the wave. And really, way I see it, these people get paid for their job so if they want respect that takes extra work that you're sure as f*** not gonna see out of Kane or Orton.

You have the right to try and if people go along with you, free reign to continue. 2. Wrestling is based on reacting to the live crowd around them and changing the performance to suit whats happening. Not only are those different environments, theyre different art forms. 3. The fact that I'm watching (and paid money to do so) in the first place means they already have my respect. Time for them to respect me.

Are High School plays actively promoting crazy crowds and embracing it? No. WWE has done this too themselves. This stems from the late 90's with the signs and chanting. It only happens about twice a year there is no point in bitching about this. When WWE stops promoting this as a great crazy time then maybe it could stop but it probably won't. All these analogies are terrible a comedian, and a high school play or a Broadway play aren't actively promoting a crazy crowd where there is free reign to bring any sign or saying anything while having fun.

And yes I know they're two different environments, but they're still two sets of people trying to put on a show for you, they at least deserve respect. At Rocky Horror Show performances, they encourage audiences to yell out jokes and in jokes and call the characters names and all sorts. So yeah, with certain plays it can be done, and it's considered part of the experience. At others, it isn't acceptable because it isn't part of the tradition. And at wrestling shows it can be done. People have been encouraged to chant for decades, but if it isn't positive or focused on whichever guy WWE wants to push, it's not allowed any more? And imagine how bloody dull it would be if it was just an audience chanting in a uniform monotone "I appreciate the long careers of Big Show and Kane and see no issue with them main eventing in 2015. I am adequately stimulated by the spectacle before me."

Wrestling isnt broadway or any other form of theater than what it is, wrestling. The fans have always been a part of the show. Who they pop for is who gets pushed. Always been that way.
I like to think of the night after Mania crowd being one giant "How's my driving? 1-800 number" or "Thank you for dining with us, fill out this survey for a FREE appetizer on your next visit!"
These are the most dedidcated sect of a fanbase that only exists because the business relies on dedicated fans.
If they are all having a good time and want to give their opinion of the product, WWE should be sitting there with ears wide open and listen.

Do they advertise who's gonna be in the main event on Raw locally when people are buying their tickets? If not, the "you wouldn't hijack a stand-up comedy gig!" thing doesn't really hold up.

There's also the notion of WWE "not respecting us" by putting guys like Big Show and Kane there at the end that some people have thrown around tonight.

I've gone to high school plays and booed the acting. But that's what happens when your job is being a high school musical theater critic like mine.

Are his matches good? Is he cutting good promos? Does he have a ton of charisma? Does he have a lot of presence? Right now all of these things are a no. Because of this, this man gets booed very heavily. It's not just the workratez.

I sure hope Big Show and Kane received some kind of monetary compensation for the trauma they endured at the hands of that baying mob tonight, otherwise my peas will be thoroughly steamed.

It's unfortunate that you could corral up all the indy mark workrate sheet readin sons of bitches and ban them from all wrestling shows
Roman Reigns boyhood dream would still be a trainwreck.
