I have a lot. Judy Dench, the only person in history to show up onscreen for 8 minutes and walk away with a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination (Shakespeare in Love) Ian McKellan, Another incredible performer from the UK. Jeff Bridges, potentially the most underated performer of our time Kevin Kline John C. Reilly Jennifer Connelly Rachel McAdams, the best young actress in Hollywood today. And ofcourse, Michael Caine

John C Reily- Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Chicago etc. Phillip Seymour Hoffman- he deserved that oscar more than any actor in his generation, with the possible exception of Paul Giamati Luke Anderson- When it's written by Wes Anderson and his brother Luke can be great. Watch his performances in Bottlerockets and The Royal Tennembuams William H Macy- Another David Mamet/PT Anderson guy. Fargo is what turned me on to this guy back when he was still Dr. Morgenstern on ER Jeff Bridges- Never flashy, always gives everything to the part John Cavele- Died shortly after his film career started but he might have the greatest StR ratio ever: Godfather, Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon, The Deer Hunter Jeff Daniels- see my thoughts on Jeff Bridges Sigourney Weaver- Has done great work from sci-fi horror (alien) to biograpic drama (gorrillias in the mist) to comedy (ghostbusters) Jullianne Moore- Someone I truly enjoy watching work. I recomend Magnolia and the movie where Dennis Quiad is gay in the 50's Natile Portman- she is sort of a superstar but she seems to pick interesting roles. She could be the Martha Plimpton of her generation Lauren Amrbose- from 6 Feet Under.

Gene Hackman is the greatest living actor in the world. He has won a Best Actor Oscar, and best supporting actor. But is always forgotten when people talk about the greats. You can have Pacino and DeNiro anyday, I'll take Hackman thankyou.

Agree completly with Hackman. He's one of the guys like Bridges or Ed Harris that go out there and do great work with a character. I think guys like that are over looked because they do not act in a distictive manner. Personally I think it's great that I can't name a "hackmanesk" performance that Gene has done they way I can with DeNero and Jack Nicholson. So the guys who basically act in the same manner no matter what the role is gets the attention because they do the same thing ad nausiem while guys like Hackman go somewhat over looked.

James Franco. Sure he's in hit movies like Spider-Man, but no one cares about the best living actor today. Brando, DeNiro and Franco...all the great ones end in an 'o'. No idea what that meant.

Of course, Slim. But now, you're just on the cusp of mega-stardom. So reach for that brass ring, yo.

Damian Lewis. - www.imdb.com/name/nm0507073/If you`ve seen Band of Brothers you`ll know what I mean. The guy was superb start to finish. He also played a similar role in a British TV mini series called Warriors (Peacekeepers in the US) which was where I first saw him. I`m glad to see he`s busy according to his IMDB profile. I see a bright future ahead. Who gets your vote? Have you seen Damian Lewis in the awful 'Dreamcatcher'? He is alright in it. Until he gets possessed by an Alien and then its some of the worst acting you will ever see by the guy. That film and performance probably set him back a few years. Like Bryan Pepper from his role in 'Battlefield Earth'.

I actually bought a James Dean biopic for the sole reason I thought Franco did a good job in it as Dean. I like Benicio Del Toro, but I don't know if anyone else does. If there is someone who DOESN'T like Benicio Del Toro, I would like know. and here's my list of people I have a lot. Also I would say that Ian McKellan, Judi Dench and Michael Caine were Megastars. All 3 have been honoured by the Queen (2 Knights, 1 Dame) which to me says they` have hit it big.

Hmm... just my opinion, but most of the people mentioned here seem at the very least bottom of the A-List. If Hollywood releases a movie where they bill it as a "John Cusack movie" for instance (nothing against John Cusack. I'm a big fan), I'd say you get recognition and A-list treatment.
Example: My favorite actor is Sir Ian McKellen. The guy is incredible, and even elevates utter garbage like the X-Men sludge and the dreadful Da Vinci Code with his incredible talent, and Hollywood knows it. But he gets the treatment. Sure, he's not in a lot of gossip magazines (seeing as he is a admittedly homosexual man, I guess it's hard to drag him through the mud), but he is still treated like a celeb. I think he deserves far more respect than he does garner. He certainly has the talent for it. Just watch his "Richard III" or "Apt Pupil" to see some absolutely mesmerising performances. But fact remains: He is a star.
Someone who isn't, but who's talent far outshines most of the actors who work in Hollywood is Jeffrey Wright. Probably best known for his roles as Basquiat in the movie of the same name, and Peoples Hernandez in the Samuel L. Jackson version of "Shaft", Wright is a chameleon actor, virtually unrecognisable from role to role. Personally I was impressed and fascinated by his performance in "Syriana" but it wasn't until the end credits I found out that it was actually him. He had completely transformed himself since the last time I saw him. Truly an amazing talent.
Honorable mention goes to: Peter Mullan Paul Bettany (who is getting the recognition finally) Ted Levine Kathleen Quinlan
