You know which one would really be funny?
Zayn. That would be an interesting choice of direction.

They didn't want to confuse anyone with their upcoming superstar, Adrian Antonio Alexander Langston.

It's the 4-syllable rule. If you look back at the history of wrestling, not a lot of stars have more than 4 syllables in their name. Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Bray Wyatt, and the entire Shield, got to keep their names. Rusev, Cesaro, and Neville didn't. There's a few exceptions, but that's generally the idea behind it. A lot of Hollywood celebrities who change their name also go with something shorter than 5 syllables, or they go by their shorter middle name if their last name is too long. At the same time, 2 monosyllabic names are bad. I remember Lance Storm posting a story about how he felt like he couldn't get any face heat early in his career because "Lance Storm" isn't a chantable name.

Bo Dallas Bray Wyatt Seth Rollins Roman Reigns Dean Ambrose Adam Rose Xavier Woods In other words, it's a case by case basis. Don't simply ignore non-examples. I guarantee Roman Reigns just becoming "Reigns" is going to happen before his career is over.

If he becomes Reigns of Fire and adopts a dragon slayer gimmick, I'm cool with that

You're right, I mean shortening Rocky Maivia's name was pretty much the main reason he was never able to grow past his IC Title status despite having all the unrealised potential in the world.
I wonder what ever happened to that guy?
