Ya'll want more intricate and better storylines and New Day is doing that and everybody no sells it. Their happy, clapping schtick is what suppresses the rage and anger, they even said as much in one off-hand promo. That's what Big E is saying in these tweets. Saying something, then just being lame and boring for a month really isn't intricate, deep, or interesting. That'd be like a wrestler having a gimmick where he's a great wrestler, but pretends to be a bad one. So he just wrestles shitty matches for a long time.

R-Truth could cut a heart-felt 10 minute promo in the middle of the ring and 90% of the responses here would be "why is this man still employed?" And the other 10% wondering if this will lead to a New Nation.

He can keep joking around of Twitter, but fans are not responding well to New Day. They were booed vociferously at Royal Rumble and the night after Mania. They were absolutely not meant to be booed. I'm going to continue to maintain that the original intention was for New Day to be a heel group. Then Ferguson, MO happened. You can't really do the angry, black male gimmick with the current political climate. Well, you could, but certainly not with this creative team.

New Day gimmick is intentionally cheesy, that's all I'm saying. It's hard to believe people have genuine hatred towards it.

Aside from Raw/Wrestlemania they've been met with complete apathy which is far more appropriate. It's difficult to tell what they were ever supposed to be because they have yet to expand their act beyond just coming out and saying "New Day" a bunch of times.

Wrong, they did expand...with Kofi saying they're all about being positive. And Big E does that handkerchief thing.
I'm sold, take all my income.

How long has New Day been New Day now? Unless they started the ball rolling in the subversion then I won't believe its coming

The New Day are extremely awesome in taped segments. The JBL and Renee Show, Raw Fallouts, and social media, they are both charasmatic and self aware.
But on TV in front of crowds, they are really lame and obnoxious. And even the crowds that don't hate them seem to just sit around as they do their thing.

Everyone keeps assuming that New Day could've only been a group of angry militant heels or happy-go-lucky babyfaces, but TNA actually has done a great job with having an all-black heel trio (back when it was Lashley, MVP, and Kenny King). Doing something like that could work for New Day.

Doing something like that could work for New Day. TNA has had them say some pretty tasteless stuff but remarkably, not a thing they do has anything to do with them being black. I'm sure someone was fired over that.

I figured he meant his clapping with the chalk, because I'd chosen to forget New Day existed.
