I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I feel like it's still going to be missing something.

I remember having some fun with Muppets Tonight when they tried that a number of years ago, so I definitely want this to succeed.

Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular comedies on television. Having its co-creator involved in another comedy show is a good thing for their network and makes sense.

I would prefer something else for the pilot, since that is pretty much the same as The Muppets (2011 movie), but you can't go wrong with more Muppets.

Something I've wondered since the attempts to bring back The Muppets in the last five years or so: do kids care at all about The Muppets or it just adults who liked The Muppets when they were kids that are into it?

Bill Prady, the Big Bang Theory co-creator/writer, got his start with the Jim Henson Company, writing for the animated Fraggle Rock, Jim Henson Hour and a potential Muppet Pilot in 2007.

YES! That's awesome news! I personally think that like Looney Tunes, The Muppet Show is something that should always air somewhere on TV. I loved watching it when it was Nick when I was little, and I still love rewatching it on DVD. I've been hoping for this to happen ever since the new Muppet movie came out. This decade is the perfect time for them to come back considering we still have an 80s nostalgia wave going on, plus all the newer flamboyant celebrities we have today. This should be a lot of fun! Bill Prady, the Big Bang Theory co-creator/writer, got his start with the Jim Henson Company, writing for the animated Fraggle Rock, Jim Henson Hour and a potential Muppet Pilot in 2007.
In other words, he's the perfect person to bring them back. What a way to go full circle.

Details of the plot are sketchy, but TVLine has obtained the following logline: “The Muppets excitedly gather at ABC for a meeting about the new Muppet Show. However, the show will not move forward unless Miss Piggy signs on.” Ummm, hasn't pretty much that exact plot already been done?

I love the Muppets to death, but if they've ever had a main story arc, that's the closest thing.

Something I've wondered since the attempts to bring back The Muppets in the last five years or so: do kids care at all about The Muppets or it just adults who liked The Muppets when they were kids that are into it? Anecdotally, my cousin's young sons have always dug them.

My niece loves Fraggle Rock, I don't know if she's been shown the Muppets yet. She's going to be 6 in a week or so, so yeah. Kids do still like puppetry.
