you still fail to acknowledge that you do this to yourself I acknowledged that it was my fault in my post. It's less than 24 hours and we see a page-long goodbye I was at the house for just about all of Sunday getting work done, sorry that I didn't wait 24 hours to check FAN. And my post went about a paragraph. How can you be there a split second after things don't go your way or when sign-ups go live I signed up 2 days after sign-ups went live. Which is a smidge more that a split second. I have no idea where you're even getting your "judges hated my pick" comment I never posted anything about the judges hating my pick, so I have no idea where I'm getting that either.

Right so Round Six, and this is going to be a doozy. As its a covers round, its also a tribute to quite possibly one of the greatest to ever pick up a guitar By Royal Appointment Your task is to produce a cover song of any of the following four artists, all who claim royal spots. BB King Elvis Presley Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 Queen/Freddie Mercury To clarify, you can use songs that the orginals have been in the contest before. Songs in by Thursday night if you will, ta

Got 3 choices for this. All three got a lot of benefits, but some big drawbacks too.
Decisions, decisions.

Well, something automatically popped into my head, but I'm exploring other options. If nothing else, it could be a good backup.

So many awesome songs to choose from, but I did it. I hope it works out.

Quick question about BB covers, does it have to be songs he wrote or can be songs he made popular?

Lil late,but my rankings
Rank 1:Oh Wonder - Livewire
It was a beautiful song, the instrumental is beautiful and deep.Makes me want to lay down under the sun and just listen to it for an hour. The two singers was beautiful and gave it a nice dynamic. Rank 2: Bad Liquor Pond -New Reality
This one came out of nowhere to me ,and it grew on me the more i heard.Love the details on the instruments.
Rank 3:Politics and Assassins-'Its Your Last Shot'
Maybe i ranked too high, but i really enjoyed this one. I didn't find it similar enough to songs i have heard in the past of similar style and the songs steps up as it goes. Rank 4: Wo Fat - Beggar's Bargain
When comparing again pehaps i should have placed this one on thirs place instead because i really enjoyed the guitar work in this song, they have a really cool and interesting style.
Rank 5:"Unsettling Differences" - Blue Smock Nancy
As the previous song it has a really cool style, i really enjoyed the vocals, with a few really cool instrumental moment, but the vocals for me are the true star of the song.
Rank 6:Dominique Fricot - Haunted By Love
As said, this song really sells a good atmosphere, the 4-6 ranking was really hard and it moved a bit between ranks. But while the singing and the instrumental give a nice baby i felt like the other songs had more going on for then, but this was a top pick no doubt.
Rank 7:Code of the West - Barbarian Overlords
It was a really solid song ,it is one of these songs your bob you head too,it deserved a solid rank just from the way it gets you going on its pace.
Rank 8:the magicians - an invitation to cry
I really like a good beat and drum in the background.I like a moody blues and this one is decent enough ,but otherwise it was slight underwhelming for me.
Rank 9: NEØV – The Rain People
it was one of these picks that don't induce many strong feelings. It was a good song, that emerges you into it with its small details and that was definitely a plus.I think looking back it deserved a 7 or 8 score from its details but the vocals are really unimpressive and the same for the base instruments.
Rank 10:The Karma Killers - Coming Of Age
It had a catchy chorus but overall the song felt uninspired, one of these songs you easily mix up with any other catchy song. But the work overall was decent,it wasn't a bad song,i still found enjoyment in it,but it did feel similar the whole way trough, like the parts between chorus were just filler.
Rank 11:Midnight Blaze (SySF Mix)
I like a good techno action beat but this didn't do it for me,it is something you would expect of the generic idea of a dancing song, but it doesn't actually make you wanna song or listen more,it does have that feeling that something is missing,it does get better halfway. The vocals really pick up,and it saved it from a lower pick, and it was good, just not as good as other picks
Rank 12: Bryan John Appleby-Cliffs Along the Sea When i compare it to the other two mood songs in the list,i can see how ..boring this song is.I listen to it all i can hear as that Movie College Kid with a Guitar under a tree. And while you can do amazing things with just basic fundamentals this was not one of these ocasions,it left me bored and just wanting to skip to the next song.
Rank 13: M Seven - Shift
Talk about a song that could have been so much more,it had an ..interesting idea that didn't work with the voice clips, but that isn't even the problem.I kept hearing the song and expecting SOMETHING to happen,it felt like it was leading to something, but it just keep repeating the same thing. It always made you think "ok..now it is coming to cool part, the climax" but it continued with the same lacking style the whole song

I'm a huge Queen fan and I've honestly haven't heard many covers and I've come to the conclusion there aren't many good ones after checking some out.

No, no they cannot. Bingo, very few people were/are in Freddies's league and when people cover Queen they try to do it like him instead of their own take, as it stands if I do go with a Queen cover it'll be of a song that had either Brian or Roger on lead vocals.

Got my song in. Heh, kind of proud of myself due to its wackiness. But it works . And then I go and change it. Because I'm a dork.
