Off to a promising start so far.
Really impressed with Vaughn's performance and Farrell was just awesome.

i enjoyed the first episode far far FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR more than the entire first season, S1 really was painfully slow and some parts almost BORED ME TO TEARS, but S2 already is so much better!
we got introduced to the four main characters before the FIRST break, and got a healthy dose of the story, without the almost oppressive atmosphere of the first one!
it felt fresh and loved the setting, already invested in this

That was a poor first episode but I'm sure it will get better. It was basically just an hour of exposition.
And the three leads are too similar. We got three Rust Cohles.
Young Rust, Lady Rust and Porn Rust.

"12 years old my ass. f*** you!"
I thought it was okay, but I liked that scene so I'm on board.

The main thing I came away with is that the theme song to this season was just god awful, what was that shit..
Other then that I enjoyed the episode. I thought Colin stole the episode with the bully scene.

hot garbage episode. really boring. the bully thing was the highlight. music was terrible. doesnt hold a candle to first season. miss woody and mathew. why mcadams? she was very meh as was the rest of the cast minus colin. can easily skip this ep and start on ep 2 since story begins at the end of ep 1.

Yeah, I can't say I enjoyed that first episode. It was okay, but nothing that blew me away. From what I've read in various reviews, the second season isn't going to be the greatest thing in the world.
And yes, that theme song is abysmal. They should be embarrassed.

I really hated Rachel McAdams character and that Highway Patrolman was meh. Seriously the most likeable and enjoyable to me was Colin' character

I dunno if Justin Lin was the best fit for this episode. He didn't convey the dread that Cary Fukunaga was so good at.
That said, I think the episode showed some promise.

Didn't expect that. {Spoiler}Surprising me since I'm not a Farrell fan, he was my favorite character so far. Aside from Rachel McAdam in tight jeans.

Yep, didn't see that coming. {Spoiler}And right before it happened, I was thinking that the scenes between Farrell and Vaughn are my favorite parts of this season.

Why are we spoiling shit that has already aired?
Anyways, really not feeling this season and even if I don't think Ray is dead, it still doesn't help. Vaughn is really...not good, and Kitsch is basically the same level of bad. McAdams and Farrell have been fine, but still.

Pretty ballsy move.
I'll hold off on judgment until everything plays out, but killing off your (arguably) main character this soon is a helluva risk.
Obviously, there will be flashbacks still, but you know what I mean.

But other than that the ending was wild twist.

I really hope there will be flashbacks because outside of McAdams, the rest of the cast is pure shit. Whoever thought Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch should be mains in a drama series should be shot. They f****** suck.

That Vince Vaughan monologue at the start was awful. A better actor MIGHT have pulled it off, but I actually wanted to stop watching the episode after the start.
I'm glad I didn't cause it actually was pretty good for the rest of the hour.
So I guess we're getting eyeless Colin Farell next week.

I really hope they didn't kill Rey, who is the only interesting character on the show. Taylor Kitsch has been just dreadful.
