{Spoiler} I think I've changed my mind on the Sansa to Winterfell theory. It does make sense and one thing I forgot about earlier is Reek / Theon. He could easily be a surrogate for any punishment that Ramsay wants to give to Sansa. You've also got the potential for her to be begging for Theon's help. He finally agrees, only for him to betray her because he was following Ramsay's orders all along, which is a call back to when Ramsay helped Theon escape.

I have another speculation, outside of books, unknowing of the spoilers, with the new plotlines. Re: the fighting pits. {Spoiler}Dany reopens the fighting pits after some more pushing by Dario. He even fights in them to show off to her. He asks for his next opponent and out comes... Jorah.
The fight goes in Dario's favor with him playing to the crowd, but then Jorah takes advantage of his distraction to get a deadly advantage, he hesitates and looks at Dany, who is wearing emotions on her sleeve as her lover is about to die.
Then Dario uses this to deliver a killing blow. And Dany realizes she still cared about Jorah as he whispers his last word: Khaleesi.
Sure, a little cheesy, but it seems slightly logical.

Having watched the leaks, I'm liking reading you guy's theories. Ah yes, the Game of Thrones season pattern. Week 1: WOOO! Kinda slow, but I wonder what will happen! Week 2: Woooo! Things will happen! Week 3: Ok, lots of set up, let's have something happen. Week 4: Guh, any time now. Week 5: YAY! Something happened! I bet this will happen next! Week 6: Nope. Week 7: Sigh, why are these people still alive? That was pretty cool. Week 8: Huh, I have this strange feeling of dread. Week 9: OH MY GOD WHAT JUST HAPPENED!? MY WHOLE BRAIN IS CRYING!!! Week 10: Everything's wrapping itself up nicel-WHAT!?!?!!?!?!?!!??! WHY IS NEXT SEASON NOT HERE!?!?!?

I believe by killing their leader, he absorbs them into his army. They have to fight for him now. Loyalty is meh, but they'll fight.
I may be mistaken, but I think that's one of the main reasons he killed Renly, to absorb his army. Yeah, but the Wildlings aren't southern lords. They followed Mance because they believed in him and he was one of them, they're not just going to go straight over to the next guy. And even Mance had to work for that loyalty. {Spoiler}I really hope that they stick with the books and Mance is still alive by way of Melisandre's magic. As much as I'm not a fan of Mel's plot devices, Ciaran Hinds is way too good to just kill off his character after barely even using him.

Game of Thrones is back. I was naughty and have watched three episodes already. So many changes. You'd think not knowing what was coming because of changes to the source material would increase my interest and anticipation. Sadly, not so much.

On a related note, while episode 9 is generally the climax episode, I've noticed that they like end episode 4 with a particularly strong "Whoa, boy!" moment.. Season 1 - Catelyn taking Tyrion prisoner at the inn. Season 2 - Shadow baby Season 3 - Dracarys Season 4 - White Walker Day Care and Nursery

Also, if I'm not mistaken, aren't they more numerous, at least as well trained and more familiar with the climate than Stannis' army? The way I see it, Stannis' only advantage would be equipment, and even then the Wildlings have freaking giants on freaking mammoths! They have literally no reason not to kill him and absorb his army into theirs, or at least kill said army while they have the benefit of the effect of surprise. My theory is that it's exactly what's going to happen and then they ask Jon to become their leader. Having watched the leaks, I'm liking reading you guy's theories. What does staring at vegetables have to do with Game of Thrones?

My theory is that it's exactly what's going to happen and then they ask Jon to become their leader. The Wildlings need help in order to succeed. The way the show's written, they won't cooperate easily, but they have legitimate reasons to work with Baratheon and the rest. The Wildlings are not professionally trained and they're not very well outfitted. They lack proper discipline and don't have good commanders, and it's part of why they lost at Castle Black. Sure, their numbers and ferocity are off the charts and they have some great gimmicks, but an army without good leadership and discipline is worthless for anything other than guerilla warfare. They're also horrible at siege warfare. They couldn't beat a hundred Night's Watchmen and Baratheon reinforcements. How in Westeros are they supposed to siege the hundreds of fortifications of the Seven Kingdoms?

How in Westeros are they supposed to siege the hundreds of fortifications of the Seven Kingdoms? Those are some very good points you bring up, although I still argue killing Mance was a stupid move on Stannis' part as as soon as they get what they want from his army, the Wildlings are so going to turn on him. Had he kept Mance around, even if he refused to obey him, he could have used him as a hostage, saying he'd kill Mance unless the Wildlings themselves accept to join him. Hell, even if he really just wanted a sacrifice, he could have taken another respected Wildling (or even just any random one, really), burn that person and then say that Mance is next if they don't obey. or say that for every day they refuse to submit, he'll burn another Wildling but if they do help him, he'll free Mance once their common threat is dealt with. What he did only ensured that sooner or later, they WILL go against him, kill him and put his head on a spike. He literally burned his bargaining chip. And of course, if they manage to kill Stannis first (like if, say, they strike a deal with miss "could I be any more obviously evil?"), I imagine they'd easily convince his army to join THEM ("We killed your king. Join us or you die as well").

I like that Cersei keeps calling Margaery a whore even though she's the person who's had multiple affairs throughout the series.
