i tried to do a mets dynasty with out of the park baseball a couple of years ago but never really followed through with it and now with the hype of Harvey coming back after tommy john surgery and mets players believing they will make the playoffs i though let's see if they can using ootp if you don't know what out of the park baseball is it's a baseball simulator where you take control of a team from any year and try to win the world series for this dynasty I will choose the name john "soap" mactavish from the cod modern warfare series because why not so here we go Sandy Alderson steps down as General Manager John "soap" Mactavish takes over it was announced today that Sandy Alderson would step down as general manager of the Mets after a string of bad years where the Mets seem to be getting worse and worse each year. "I just feel like it's time to step down fans are growing impatient and I think John will do a good job with the team." it was also announced that Sandy will stay on the team as a special assistant to John Mactavish Terry Collins future with the team is unclear. will this move do anything for the Mets? Only time will tell

so a new feature this year in ootp are owner's goals which gives you a list of short term, mid term, or long term tasks and in order to keep your owner happy you must complete these tasks
first goal finish .500 target year 2015 okay so i have this year to do this i think it's doable at least Fred's not expecting me to make the playoffs
acquire a cy young award winner third goal reach the world series in the next 4 seasons so Fred wants an inexperienced gm to do a four year rebuild okay i'll try but no guarantees you hear that Alderson
now here are strengths and weaknesses of the team
third base well obviously with the captain David wright playing third there's no doubt this would be a strength if he could be better than his off year last year then this team could do something good
starting pitching even though wheeler is out because of tommy john surgery we still have a lot of pitching depth so if one person goes down someone can be called right up to take their place and they could be used as trade bait in order to get that top player that we need
weaknesses shortstop wilmer flores and ruben tejada need i say more
catcher Travis d'arnaud just hasn't performed for the mets and he needs to in order to make the dickey trade from a 2012 worth it and for him to keep his catcher spot
bullpen this is a major issue and i just don't have faith in them this is something we're gonna have to fix down the line
next up it's baseball time the April report will be up

APRIL 2015 report this was a bad bad month don't let the record fool you the only reason why the record is what it is is because we beat teams that were worse than us it seems like we couldn't beat any good teams especially the marlins who seem to have our number and we just can't figure it out here are the standings for the pitchers it seems like the game doesn't want us to have any pitcher under .500 era which is a major problem also a problem is Harvey hasn't been performing at all in his return as for the hitters well they're not doing well either our home run leader Lucas Duda has 5 home runs but also has a .211 average...yeah Eric Campbell is tearing it up in triple A if he continues this he'll get a call up so that's it for this month hopefully May will be much better

May 2015 update well the good news is the mets are above .500 for the first time but that's not the only positive thing apparently the nl is weak this year because we are only 3 games back of the division and 1 game back of the wild card and even though it's only juse maybe things are looking up here are the standings unfortunately there was some bad news as Juan Lagares got injured and is out for three more weeks darrell cecilani has been called up to replace lagares for now Eric campbell has been called up but is off to a slow start while Lucas Duda who might be sensing the pressure has picked up the pace and been hitting better. we've still gotta play well in order to have a chance at the playoffs but it's still early don't count anything out yet

June update still above .500 but barely 39-39 still in the playoff race though so can't really complain but how long is it gonna last i don't know not much to say right now luckily lagares is back after being injured murphy is the top hitter and as you can see really it's only him and flores who are hitting well nobody else is stepping up and i think that's the reason why we can't win because nobofy's really producing and we can't get runs and you can't get runs you're not gonna win

What game are you using for this, and how much does it cost?
