He posted a voyeuristic photo of a stranger's ass.
That's creepy.
And I've seen people say, "Well, he meant it as a compliment."
Okay, cool.
Next time you see an attractive stranger on the street, just go ahead and take their picture without their permission and justify it by saying, "But I think you're hot!"
Lemme know how that works out.

I don't know if this is still a practice, but I when I briefly worked in a pharmacy that did photo developing (around 2001), we were told to look out for pictures where it appeared someone took a candid, voyeuristic photo of someone's backside (as it was in this case) or boobs/cleavage. If it looked like it was done with the person unaware, particularly if the person did not appear to be an adult, we were told to take the picture out. I don't know if that's still the case or even how legal that is. I never had a customer who returned asking for missing pictures. I do remember finding some 'big booty' pics that looked to be taken with the person unaware. As instructed, I took them out as the person in the picture looked to be about high school age.
Of course 14 years later most people use cellphones, tablets, or digital cameras and wouldn't need to go to a store to get their pictures.

The big assumption is that this picture was taken without the person's permission. I'm not totally defending whoever this guy is, but we don't know if he asked before or after for consent at all and kept her anonymous because maybe she didn't want to have her face on camera. I think it's wrong to simply assume in this case.
The real question is: how was this labeled as body shaming in the first place?

Her weight (or anybody's weight) is none of his business and he shouldn't have put this on social media.

Of all the things that demand outrage in the world I find it shocking that people devote so much time and energy to something like this. I mean by our societies standards he hasn't really done anything wrong, whether those standards are right or wrong though is another issue. my point being people are singling a celebrity out for something that if anyone else did it would be a complete non issue, I bet if you went through any of these complainers social media accounts you could find something more exciting to make a molehill out of. He's famous and has a lot of followers. His actions are likely to receive more attention than some random Joe whose social media is only followed by his friends and family

I'd say more body shape than weight you can be small and have that shape. I dunno, after the last year of music, I'm just bored references to butts. He was complimenting her, it was creepy, at least she's anonymous.

It's creepy. He took a picture of a woman's butt that he didn't know and posted that online. That's a major issue that shouldn't be ignored. He had no right to take her picture and post it online. Or just take it in the first case.

I thought the point was that the woman's shorts are too small to the point where her butt cheeks are visible. Kind of like how in WWE Current, people have repeatedly made fun of Ahmed Johnson's wedgies.
It seems to not be body shaming, but instead "put some f***ing pants on, you slob."

Speaking of Buble, why was his version of Spiderman not used in the last two Spiderman movies?

Ah body shaming, the new PC-over reaction buzzword. It will be replaced within a couple of years with some other "OMG I'm so offended!" Term. Should he have posted someone's pic without consent? No. But I am not going to crucify him for it.

Slightly playing Devil's Advocate here..I think it's weird to take pictures unawares but do you guys get as outraged at People of Walmart? Or the thousands of videos people take of arguments and fights going on? I'm curious as to where the line is for some of you.
Also, and again just playing Devil's Advocate here, but having shorts that short, what kind of attention do you think this person wants? Not blaming this girl in any way, so don't take my words out of context, I'm just saying if you dress for attention (and having your ass cheeks hanging out of your shorts is certainly dressing for attention) is it that surprising when one gets it? I could walk around a mall in a leather clown outfit, but would it be wrong of someone to take a picture of me in it unawares?
Just curious.

No. But I am not going to crucify him for it. Standards just change over time, so I don't see the issue of body image going away entirely soon. It probably doesn't apply to this case, but it's not a buzzword, it's a real problem.

I agree with you, but the phrase “its that simple" is needlessly condescending. Well that's your problem. Its that simple. Not everything revolves around you.

If there was consent, then that changes the narrative entirely and I think then it would be pretty harmless. I doubt there was, though.
Like I can't imagine Buble going up to some random stranger saying "Hi, I'm world-famous singer Michael Buble. Can my wife, who is herself famous actress, singer, and model Luisana Lopilato, take a picture of your booty? It is quite sensational!"
