I had never seen a Marvel movie or read a Marvel book before seeing Iron Man. I just thought Iron Man would be a fun popcorn movie until Sam Jackson showed up. And I was doubly surprised when RDJ showed up in Incredible Hulk a month later. The idea that they were actually building toward something so ambitious just seemed surreal until I saw Thor. I'm probably in the minority but I loved it and have been all in ever since.
I wish DC luck in playing catch up, but as of right now, all our base and box office belong to Marvel.

I barely even knew that they were doing a cinematic universe when Iron Man I came out, until everyone started talking about the post-credit scene with Samuel L. Jackson talking about the Avengers Initiative. I crapped my pants. (Figuratively.) (Maybe.)
