So this is about the Ultimate X match that just aired. I'll spoil it just in case. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The Hardys climbed a ladder and retrieved the tag team titles. So did this annoy anybody else? I remember back when Team 3D wanted to end the X-Division and they competed in an Ultimate X match and they climb a ladder in it, and everyone from the announcers to other heel wrestlers were going on about how that's the one thing you don't do. So now we have probably the biggest face tag team in TNA just saying f*** it climb the ladder to get the win, and nobody (well ok there was only one person who could say anything since Taz left on "special assignment.") but still.

My thing is, if ladders and shit are allowed, why even bother with Ultimate X? Why not just have a ladder match?

Can either of the Hardys actually climb to the middle of the Ultimate X structure using the cables?
I don't think Jeff has ever done it, and Matt would break the cables trying to support his weight on the structure.

Because when a heel does it, he's cheating, and when a face does it, it's crafty.

I don't have a problem with it. I just wished they had it "hidden" under the ring, so it would've been more of a surprise.

They might as well scrap Ultimate X as well as The X Division.
I guess they didn't realize that until the match that none of the guys were suited for Ultimate X.

I wouldn't say everybody, as King, Low Ki, and Aries have been able to climb the cables. But, they totally should have just made it a Ladder match or Full Metal Mayhem, if the team that won it wasn't able to climb Ultimate X. It's like booking a Steel Aslyum match where the guy who is supposed to escape has had a history of shoulder injuries.

Seriously, they used the cheater rig and they still used a ladder? Scrap it all. Put it on mothball for at least 2 year and should they live to see that long, bust it out for the X Division and X Division only.

Oh they did??? Well that's freaking annoying and against the whole point of an Ultimate X Match!! Glad someone said something about this so I'll actually know to see it and be less pissed off about it than I would if I had seen it when it aired instead of DVR.

It's not the first time one's ended via ladder, probably not the last. Raises the question of why those involved don't just go straight to using a ladder.

Considering that the thing with ladders being the ultimate heel move in Ultimate X goes all the way back to the weekly PPVs, this is especially dumb and continuity-violating.

Considering that the thing with ladders being the ultimate heel move in Ultimate X goes all the way back to the weekly PPVs, this is especially dumb and continuity-violating. Especially since the faces used it to the win the match, and said faces were The Hardys, who were pioneers of the X-Division style many years ago (god damn, No Mercy 99 was fifteen and a half years ago). This is the sort of thing that can really undermine them if enough people catch on. But again, leave it to TNA to book an Ultimate X match where the guys who are winning can't scale the damn structure to begin with.

Jeff tried it in the last Ultimate X match he was in, too. Sabin climbed it to win and they made it out as Sabin used a dick tactic to win the match ... HARDY WAS THE ONE WHO BROUGHT IT OUT AND INTENDED TO USE IT!
Hypocrites, I tell you.

Maybe they were afraid of Dick Back Tyrus shaking the thing again and Jeff almost dying yet again

My thing is, if ladders and shit are allowed, why even bother with Ultimate X? Why not just have a ladder match? When AJ and Daniels faced LAX my favorite spot was when Homicide and Hernandez brought a ladder to the ring, the fans started booing it was almost like they were cheating, and when AJ and Daniels cleared house they disposed of the ladder saying "we're winning this right". I agree it's not a f***ing ladder match, it kills the psychology of one of the matches that separated tna from everybody else.
