The Jim Johnston thread in the WWE Current section got me thinking about another guy that wrote themes for the WWE - Jimmy Hart. Thanks to Jimmy we have "Sexy Boy" which HBK still uses today, the Fabulous Rougeaus, "Cool, Cocky and Bad" for the Honky Tonk Man, Demolition's theme (I didn't think Jimmy did this one but he says he did). He also did a lot of themes for WCW, the instrumental rip off's were credited to him I think, I think he did 3 Count's theme too. Jimmy did a lot of good stuff musically for wrestling, even if his stuff doesn't touch Johnston's.
Any favourite Mouth of the South composed themes I haven't mentioned that are favourites of yours?

All-American Boys. From the tongue-in-cheek face-but-really-heel English lyrics to the tongue-in-cheek heel-but-really-face (to the Montreal fans who'd understand them) lyrics, Jimmy Hart put into song the fact that they wanted these guys to be booed despite the fact that in that one town, they'd NEVER get booed, and they totally appealed to both sides in one song. Plus, they have the 1970's Montreal Wrestling jingle in there when the song begins, the high pitch synth part of the song. It was a very meta gimmick, especially for the late 80's. Everybody involved was in on the absurdity of it all, including the fans.
It was always weird to me that it was the brother who was accused of being a straight wrestler that lacked charisma (Raymond) who ended up singing most of the song. Jacques only sings on the chorus.
Love this guy's remix of it.

Did he do the Mountie's theme, or was that Jim Johnston?

I would love to get a hold of the album that he did that was offered on cassette through the WWF magazine back in the day.
I LOVE "Eat you heart out, Rick Sprigfield" and was psyched to hear that as his theme in one of the Raw vs. Smackdown games

My personal favorite of his this isn't Jimmy's, it's just a production music tracked called "Crazed" (D. Todd Sorensen)

I thought they were going somewhere with this when a face team "steals" a heel manager's song. Were there any solid plans that in fact fell through?

I absolutely love Raven's theme. I know the main riff is an unashamed ripoff of Nirvana's 'Come as You Are' but the lead guitar that kicks in about 25 seconds in is great. I'm sure I remember reading Raven say he wished he could've taken that theme with him when he went back to ECW.

Just a heads up here, since it has come up a few times: if you aren't linking from an official WWE youtube account and you aren't sure whether or not they own the theme, don't embed the song, just post the link. It sometimes takes us a bit of figuring out whether WWE owns a theme or not so, when in doubt, please just link the theme.
Thanks!

I believe the correct and only answer to this question is "Eat Your Heart Out, Rick Springfield."
