With the sole exception of Brock, I don't want to see any of the people mentioned in the first post in any kind of main event.

How is this at all a good plan? I understand that Mania is supposed to be star-studded and a spectacle but why do they feel the need to book retired wrestlers and part-timers (I'll echo that I have no problem with Brock and his schedule) or even non-wrestlers rather than building new stars and giving them the spotlight? I really wish some of these people would flat just turn them down. What the hell are they going to do in 10 to 15 years when they have absolutely no stars?!

They should have these 4 matches, give em an hour each with hype promos and entrances, and show everybody that wrestles all year in a backstage skit twerkin with Maggle.

The ultimate years WM was built around 3 elements:
- At least one part timer involved in a high profile match (Rock, Sting, Lesnar, Trips) - Taker's match - The world title match
After the Punk/Jericho debacle it seems that they tend to throw in the most guys they can in the title match just to be sure it will not bomb. Vince wants to fill the Texas stadium and beat the Silverdome attendance record, so The Rock will be there for sure. They often sell their soul to have some kind of celebrity involved.
Based on those points here's my pick for next Mania's triple main event:
Rock (w/Rousey) vs Trips (w/Steph and another guy that will play the victim to Rousey) Taker vs Lesnar II (Taker wins and retire) Rollins vs Ambrose vs Reigns for the world title.

Austin wrestling one last time to get the goodbye he really deserves is worth my money here.

Also remember that his career started in Dallas, so that brings his career full circle.

Austin wrestling one last time to get the goodbye he really deserves is worth my money here. At Mania 19, he left second to applause despite losing, was put over massively on commentary, got his Hall of Fame induction in 2009 along with his own moment at Mania 25. I really don't know what more there can be for a goodbye and I certainly don't think it's worth sacrificing the guys who are there at the moment.

If by some miracle they get Austin to wrestle one more match, it should be against Cena . If its a one and done deal , I dont think any other match makes any business sense. If Rock wrestles next year (seems plausible ) it should be an original match, no rematch . Roman V. Rock .

When are you people going to learn that the more you complain about a Wrestlemania card, the more likely it is to happen? As soon as Vince hears "no sir, the internet doesn't like it" the gears will be set in motion to do it. This card now has an 85% chance of coming to pass just to make you all cry. Cena and Bryan will be a low card tag team facing the Usos for the tag titles in the opener and Bryan will be forced to retire shortly thereafter. We'll get Sheamus/Reigns/Orton in a triple threat and everyone else will be in the Andre battle royale. They won't even bother with the US/IC title(which will be unified by then).
Just you wait and see. Just you wait.

Rock going against any combination of Brock/Triple H is solid.
Rousey making Steph tap to her armbar? Also solid.
Taker facing Sting in a double retirement match? Another good choice.
Add to that Reigns (with another year of growth under his belt) winning the WWE title.
I'd love to see a legit tag team titles match between two teams with good build-up. But please, anyone else besides Kidd/Cesaro.
The Andre Battle Royal would be the midcard clusterf*** to get everyone a payday.
Then the two midcard titles decided in two solid matches.

All the full time wrestlers wrestle in the pre show Andre Battle Royal to make time for 4 hours of part time wrestling.

The idea that Triple H vs. The Rock might happen in 2016 is just terrifying.

If they can't get Austin I hope they can at least give us Brock Lesnar vs Shark Boy.

As much as I love those guys, it's kinda sad to think that they were all on top over a decade ago, and ALL of them are likely to be the major focus of that card.
I'm not usually the guy beating the 'new stars' drum; but man, current guys can't catch a break. Then they wonder why none of the current guys are as big as former stars.

Amusingly enough, Brock/Reigns is now seeming a bit less annoying simply because at least Reigns was a new guy and Rollins ended up winning the title.

While this whole story is speculative and unfounded, I like the discussion. I will take the old fart position on this. I'd be fine w/Austin vs whoever, Rock v HHH, Lesnar vs guy of the moment and of course Sting v Taker.
I've seen Rock v HHH fifteen times but I'm finewith it. Rock isn't going to come in and put Rollins or Reigns over. They just aren't on his level. So make your money on a WM match. I'm good with it. Sting v Taker, I am ok with anyone having a problem with it, but this guy has wanted that match since 2000 so of course I want it this yr and it would be an element that would drive up attendance Lesnar v Guy of the moment. Well Lesnar is a huge draw and current. So him vs a Rollins or whoever is big by then is fine. It is current and yet superstar appealish. Austin v whoever. The question is who. I really think they should make a concerted effort to get CM Punk for a match vs Austin. He wants it. We want it. There is precedent for bringing back guys who "will never work for Vince again Damn it!". Absent that, I dunno who you book him with HBK rumors. I don't think he works the match. I didn't read the stories but recently news sites said Shawn was contacted but isn't interested. I think he is done done. Not Flair or Foley done, but really done
