I remember in the dying days of WCW this team was one of the bright spots fans liked to talk about. Now ANYONE remembers them for is that abomination of match they had with Taker and Kane. It really is a shame.
Oh well, what memories do you have of the team and thoughts about them.
Not So Fun Fact: Both Adams and Clarke had their career ended in a stiff match in Japan? One of their opponents? You guessed it! Bill Goldberg!

They were a fun bad-ass tag team, even if they were mostly Russo's take on the APA (with them even going as far as to be hired help for cash, just like the Acolytes).
Why the hell they main evented Halloween Havoc 2000 is beyond me, thoughl

Yeah, I saw them as WCW's version of the APA as they where doing the hired gun thing when they first came in
I don't get why they had stoner references like the High Times & stuff, I guess at the time they were trying to be cool & edgy but it came across as lame

If they'd kept them as Adams and Clarke, they would be far more fondly remembered, even with the terrible WWF match. The 'Kronik' stuff was pure Russo and the reason why WCW was in so much trouble toward the end as that wasn't what the fanbase wanted, we wanted two big, moderately talented guys to just wreck people, but no, he had to make them edgy with stoner references that didn't fit the characters or company... Seriously, look at them, Adams looked like a bodyguard and Clarke looked like a mean SOB who would break someone's hand with a handshake just because he could, giving them a death stare while they begged him to let go, nothing about them said stoners.
WCW in the Russo Era was all about hammering square pegs into round holes, destroying both peg and hole in the process. While there were bright spots like the pushing of new talent to the main event, everything else was kind of soul destroying if you liked WCW and hated the edgy Attitude era product.

Well, keep the name, it was 2000, Ks were in. But yeah the stoner stuff, I can't say I've ever seen a stoner that angry and intense.

I hated them. I hated them specifically because of the stupid pot gimmick. It's not like they repackaged the two as people you could buy did a lot of smoking, they just threw them together, made no real changes to their character or appearance and went "HAHAWEEDSMOKE420GETTINGHIGHHAHA!!" It was stupid.

Off topic, but I think it would have been a funny ECW storyline if RVD suddenly turns into a completely crazed badass for a short term feud. The reason? He bought some weed that was laced with something!

The pot references made no sense, and since they were subtle in nature, they came off as juvenile and forced.

Saw them at a WCW House show once, defending the tag belts. Looked as big in real life as they did in tv.
Never did get the pot jokes, but then again I was only 12.

This was 2000. WCW had Kronik, while WWF had Edge/Christian, Hardyz, Dudleys, Too Cool, etc. As far as the perception of tag teams went, Kronik had no chance.

Russo more than likely wanted to make his own APA in WCW since that act was very popular in WWF and WCW was on a weird "Let's make our wrestlers 2nd and 3rd rate version of hit WWF acts" kick. So Vince Ru picked the 2 biggest guys left on the roster not doing anything and called them Kronik to appeal to potheads and piss off Standards & Practices. Their promos were awkward due to them using drug references in promos like "We dish out Kronik pain.".

They should have been called PCP.
APA ripoff with a drug connection that makes sense.

They should have been called PCP. APA ripoff with a drug connection that makes sense. Or MDMA since Extacy was the big drug of the moment when they formed the tag team.

I'll always be a Bryan Clark fan. Wrath rules! Mortal Kombat ripoff or not the heel contingent of Blood Runs Cold was awesome. Will always look back fondly on Wrath and Mortis. As far as Kronik goes ya the APA ripoff feel combined with the pot references detracted from the pair some. But I did still like them, they were a pair of good, intense big guys.
