No current booking plans? Check.
WWE should give him the Booker push. Obviously there's no TV Title but depending on what goes on with the US or IC plans, he could get a huge push out the gate by dethroning Cena or Bryan. Let him continue their trend of being a fighting champion.
Hell, I'd even copy part of the booking by having Jimmy lose the belt to a bruiser like Sheamus and have him win a contenders match and immediately win the belt in the following match. Make him seem like a big deal and maybe the fans will see him as such.
Follow up with his brother returning and stabbing him in the back in jealousy...before eventually reuniting as a tag team.
I'm not even a big Usos fan, I just thought it it would be the perfect push because of the similar circumstances. Obviously he'll probably just do nothing since it's not a tag team breakup that creative forced.

The titles need Bryan and Cena more than Jimmy needs either of them.
Also. Jimmy would not benefit with a run with the IC or U.S. Titles. The reality that a non-title Daniel Bryan or John Cena feud will probably take precedence over a Jimmy Uso midcard title program.
I would do one of two things with Jimmy:
1. ) Send him home and let him heal up his own body while Jey recovers.
2. ) Just use Jimmy as a JTTS on main roster and NXT programming. Since Jimmy is primarily a tag team wrestler, he does not lose anything for this. He could also lose singles matches so that other wrestlers don't have to. Need a warm body for Cena's open challenge? Jimmy Uso. Need someone to put over Kevin Owens in a quick filler match? Jimmy Uso. Need to give Jack Swagger a token win to build him to put someone better over? Jimmy Uso.

I honestly think both Uso's could be successful single wrestlers. They are pretty good wrestlers, pretty over, charismatic, have a colourful personality, and decent mic skills. If Jey Uso can travel without effecting his healing process, have him being in Jimmy's corner during his solo run.

I'd rather do this and give the guy a shot than have him sit on his ass doing nothing. If Bryan can't compete for the IC title Sunday, have Bad News Barrett claim forfeit, go on a bragging rant, then someone, maybe even Bryan, says he's got an acceptable substitute, Jimmy comes out, wins, there we go.

Why not? WWE may as well see what they have with him. You never know when lightning might strike. Maybe his brother holds him back. When Jim.. Jey...the other one comes back, they'd have a feud ready to go.

I'm all for anything that gives the Usos a chance to develop further than just being mirror images of each other. I think having more unique characters, styles, and moves would go a long way in making them more interesting.

I gotta say, if I was a wrestling promoter and had identical twins, I don't think they'd ever stop being a tag team unless they both worked hard on creating individual gimmicks. Most people can't tell them apart. One half of the Usos is just that.

I gotta say, if I was a wrestling promoter and had identical twins, I don't think they'd ever stop being a tag team unless they both worked hard on creating individual gimmicks. Most people can't tell them apart. One half of the Usos is just that. But then you have a situation like this, one guys injured, so the other one goes home and sits out weeks. I'd use this situation to fix that, give him a gimmick beyond Samoan and a twin. Then when Jey comes back, you have something better than guys who are interchangable, maybe Jimmy gets cocky, thinking Jey was holding him back and his singles success shows that, maybe Jey gets jealous. Just give them distinct identities, or develop seperate ring styles. I've never been able to care about the Usos because they seem to be relying on "they're twins" for their identity, there's nothing to the characters beyond that, I don't see how that can ever make them successful or interesting. |
