I was never too much of a fan this guy and it hasn't changed now that he's in TNA. What are your thoughts on him?

I don't watch TNA, but I read about his Punk-lite "shoot" promo's. I watched one where he said he's a WRESTLER, not a SPORTS ENTERTAINER. I almost cut myself on the edge.

Another good performer that has got "TNAized" and given a dookie ass character and storyline to work with.

Another good performer that has got "TNAized" and given a dookie ass character and storyline to work with. It doesn't help he is stuck with Dollar Store Alex Riley and The Artist Formerly Known As Camacho. Drew is a good talent solo but sticking him with two jobbers isn't going to help him at all

Drew was someone who I felt was grossly misused in WWE and was rehabbing himself in the indies after his firing. Then I hear he joined TNA, I felt dread. Then seeing how they made him into a living version of the IWC, it was not for naught. Drew is not meant to be CM Punk Junior. Cutting same promo every week of wanting to restore wrestling while complaining about WWE makes him come off as a jilted ex. Doesn't help either that he got a bunch of disappointing do boys as backup.

He seemed to gain his confidence back when he was on the indies after getting released by WWE. As of now it just screams of let's try to make him popular by saying "popular thing" when he was already coming in with hype. He doesn't need a crew to repeat his words and phrases like parrots. Also in my opinion the jeans look works better for him as wrestling gear compared to the old style trunks look. Eventually he finds his way back to WWE after more seasoning, jus get away from TNA pronto.

The whole concept and "The Rising" suck. It's not only that he's a generic CM Punk, but a bland boring one at that. It's like TNa saw what fans complained is lacking in WWE and TNA, and instead of actually doing those things, decided to just have someone say it aloud and in public. Plus, you know "The Rising" is only going to be the face stable and only going to go against the heel stable of the BDC. The concept in itself is bad, but it's even worst with Drew because he seems to just be reading off a teleprompter. There's no emotion or sense that it's real. I like Eli Drake (Shaun Ricker) and think he's great on the mic. When he speaks, you at least get some passion and he seems like he means it, which just makes Drew look worst.
There was so much potential for Drew Galloway and TNA neutered him before he even got a chance to do anything.

It feels like TNA are taking the piss out of themselves with this character. It feels like Drew is complaining about TNA's "WWE-Lite" status and wants to change that.

Seemed pretty limited in the ring outside of his wicked big boot. I agree that Eli Drake does seem impressive on the mic at least.

I like his passion but I don't like the material he's been given. Drew has shown very quickly that he can connect with a crowd and be the performer he should have been in the WWE but I hate the whole #StandUp thing they've got him doing - he just comes off as a bitter smark who wants the 80's to return so wrestling can be good again.
He's a great wrestler and as much as I hate the gimmick he has, I like that it's given both Eli and Mika a chance to shine as well.

I am happy to see Micah/Camacho somewhere else though.

If TNA were a gym Drew would be beating off all comers.

The existence of The Rising would make more sense if the BDC were a bigger threat to TNA as a whole. If MVP were still an authority figure, or if they had the world title in their possession, or if Dixie Carter was around doing them favors in the public eye.
But as it stands, what are they rising up against? Why is the Beat Down Clan such a factor necessitating a social media revolt when they've haven't been in the World title scene in months, and have no influence over TNA's operations?

From the brief clips I've seen, his role in TNA seems like a shame on two fronts.
A) It's a shame that he wasn't able to speak more/have a character in WWE for the most part, as dude CAN talk.
B) It's a shame that TNA is giving him rehashed, tired old talking points to work with.
