I hate conditional apologies. The word 'if' should not be used in your apology. Still, Booker T made an honest mistake and most everyone knows that.

I'm more offended by that "I'm sorry YOU were offended" apology. "I made an unfortunately phrased comment on a live RAW broadcast, for which I apologize. I did not mean any disrespect to the memory of Owen Hart." How hard is that? Be grateful. You should have seen his original apology before the WWE PR team got to it. "Live tv is difficult. We are working without a net out there, and tonight I crashed and burned. Sometimes our commentary goes fairly well. Tonight I fell right on my face. Throughout the course of a telecast, I drop several nuggets of wisdom. This is one nugget that never should have been dropped."

He obviously did not say this maliciously. We all say stupid things, but Booker seems to say stupid things a lot. People like him are known for saying stupid stuff. - Triple H And by people like him, I mean WWE commentators.

I think it's a bit much picking apart even his apology.

Up there with JBL's Zombie Eddie Guerrero line months ago. Eddie is not up there...

In response to his intended meaning, rather than the unfortunately unintended double meaning, Randy Savage was also a high flying King of the ring winner whose style didn't "defy gravity." Anyone can clearly understand his intent being relative to Owen's in-ring style, and not his cause of death.

I too had to rewind to make sure I heard it correctly!
They'd talked about great King of the Ring winners all night without mentioning Owen so I was pretty happy when JBL did but it kind of went downhill from there. It was bad enough JBL saying, "he wasn't a high flyer" but Booker adding "he didn't defy gravity" made me wince!
I'm sure he was simply trying to put over Neville and his words slipped out before he had thought them through and I certainly don't think there was any malice behind the comment but I do wonder if Vince told him to say it. I'm not a McMahon hater like many here are and would like to think he wouldn't stoop that low but I do acknowledge that he can be petty and down right spiteful at times so I wouldn't put it past him to mock such a sensitive subject if Bret has refused to show up to a Raw he was invited to or something. I imagine Vince either chuckling to himself while those around him shake their heads or screaming into his mic at Booker.
Regarding the apology, was this on Raw? I missed it if it was.

Neville mentioned him before that in his interview section. Also he apologized on Twitter after the show.

Least Booker knew Owen was king. Earlier on Cole said Bret won it twice.

Least Booker knew Owen was king. Earlier on Cole said Bret won it twice. He actually did. Bret won one of the non-televised King Of The Ring tournaments (1991, the last one before the first PPV one in 1993, which he also won).

I stand corrected. Surprised Cole knew that and I didn't, unless he really was thinking Bret won the year Owen did

A mistake, yes, but he shouldn't get off scot-free for saying something so mind numbingly stupid.

Next week: Cole: "Seth Rollins should be on the way to the ring. Wait, where is he? Where are J&J Security? His attack dogs?"
Booker: "Maybe he's put his dogs on the enclosed pool area…
…Oh f***, I did it again didn't I?"

I'm sure Booker wasn't mocking Owen for flying to his death. This topic is stupid.
