I don't know if I would like it or not, but I did have this thought pop into my head that they would reunite and somehow split the championship among them, almost defending the WWE title via Freebird rule. Again, not saying I'd even like it, but the thought crossed my mind.

The reunion pop will be HUGE. But now is far from the right time. Seth is so far gone as an unlikeable prick and Ambrose still wants his head as a trophy. Plus Reigns got screwed with his title shot. It makes it look like Seth's group rather than the trio.
Build some babyface heat for Seth, simmer the heat between Ambrose and Rollins then make it so Seth makes the initial save that starts things going. The initial sounds of their theme will create a thunderous reaction if they build it right. But now is far from the time.

Seth's got Jamie Noble watching his back, what does he need the SHIELD for?

Would echo the sentiment here, it's gonna be a once-in-a-generation level pop when The Shield do stick out the dukes and swear oath to justice once again; not something to squander on a B-PPV main. It's been referenced here, but I can see Rollins trying to weasel a makeshift Shield gig, only for the other 3 to lay him down with a triple powerbomb.
