you know, I came in here to make this joke:
Wow, that sucks, and they had just paid a huge sum of money to have one of the cast members of Big Brother 11 appear on that show to help boost the ratings.
then of course I was shocked to realize that Jessie Godderz was on Big Brother 11.....I had NO F***ING CLUE. I just picked that number at random!

Once again, I don't feel sorry for Destination America. If you're able to get conned by Dixie Carter, you deserve everything you get. They had all the ratings information from when TNA was on Spike, they knew their unknown network was in less than half the homes of Spike and on a higher tier, and Impact still was getting 400,000 - 500,000 viewers until the geniuses at DA decided United States Army veteran Bobby Lashley wasn't 'MURICAN enough for them, so them put Kurt Angle as champion and the show and ratings have gone to hell. Don't blame us if we don't stick around for you redneck ghost programs, blame yourself.

Dixie conned them, but these guys wouldn't know good programming if it bite them in the ass. Of course, Dixie did herself no favors playing a shell game with Russo. Listening to that SCSA with Dixie I think she is just clueless to the business.

I don't believe for a second that Dixie "Hulk Hogan Will Save Us" Carter is smart enough to actually con a television network. No, I think this deal is the result of two different but equally stupid parties who couldn't accept reality and logic. DA thought that making Impact a cornerstone of their network would bump ratings for their unrelated programming, and Dixie somehow believed that getting more shows to build up her dying brand was somehow better than more money. Now they're both realizing that the other isn't living up to incredibly unreasonale expectations, and are suffering for it.

I'm happy that now there are alternate TNA timelines. lol Like the comic books, the multiverse concept comes to TNA. I want worlds where Monty Brown is a multi-time TNA Champ and Pope is TNA's Rock. Crisis in Infinite TNAs. No amount of "Batman prep-time" can save them, though.

In defense of TNA, it does seem really strange how shitty they are to their highest rated show. I mean yeah their audience doesn't stick around for the rest of their shows but you would think that you'd still be fine with having a 2 hour chunk of your week yielding in big ratings while still finding ways to bring audiences around to the rest of it.

The thing is though, wrestling doesn't bring in very great money advertising-wise anyway so it's likely DA isn't actually making all that much more money from their presence than they would from something else, and they (extremely foolishly) expected much bigger viewer numbers than what they're actually getting and are likely paying TNA accordingly. What they're getting out of it isn't worth the investment they put into it.

I also am guessing that Dixie promised they'd get a certain level of ratings each week and they aren't close to it... or that the loyal TNA fans would watch their other shows... which they didn't.

Impact has been on Spike for years and it's not like they were ever embraced as a flagship of the network, but I guess if you're outside of the wrestling bubble it might be harder to see that TNA have been damaged goods for longer than they've been any good at this point. EDIT: I might be giving them too much credit anyways. If the commercials I see during Impact are any indication, Impact might genuinely be the best thing they have.

Kurt was never a draw tbh and also not his fault he has had EY as his opponent...

I legit think that Discovery was expecting WWE numbers and figured TNA being a wrestling promotion meant that it'd bring those same numbers. It's just as much Discovery's fault for being ignorant of a product they were interested in as it is TNA's for not trying harder with the new opportunity after Spike dumped them.

psychic bigfoot won't allow them to. Psychic bigfoot: TNA's TRUE top heel. Of course, the top heel should be a character from a complete different show. Absolute genius. #MetaTNA
