Oh, thank you Sara (claps) Sara Del Rey retiring from active wrestling and becoming a trainer may end up being for the greater good of the NXT Women's Division. They've got something really special on their hands here right now, and I just hope against all common sense that they can get the same opportunities on the main roster.

Oh, thank you Sara (claps) Sara Del Rey retiring from active wrestling may end up being for the greater good. I think so. Instead of having one Del Rey, we have a Del Rey amassing and training an army of new Del Reys. That's f***ing terrifying, and great for womens' wrestling.

Even if some of the NXT girls don't work out, that's still giving the US womens scene a jolt in the arm with a bunch of Del Ray (and Sarah Stock also) trained talent.

I don't want to be "that guy"...but I didn't think that match was anywhere near 5 star or MOTY. Good match though...

Banks is the best Diva WWE has to offer, bar none. Legit, nobody can work like Sasha. So good at selling, storytelling, wrestling, just everything. Great gimmick, great technician, just an all around fantastic wrestler. She could hang with any of the men.
Sasha to answer the U.S. Open Challenge next!

Completely awesome. Divas capable of matches like this makes me think me no like Bellas.

Always loved the Boss, but Becky Lynch just made a fan tonight. Her entrance, outfit, steampunk look. Loved it.
I expected a meh match and instead got match of the night. To watch Lynch get the standing ovation gave me chills, the crowd finally accepting her was amazing.
Easily the best Women's match I have ever personally seen. It ended and I stood and clapped. Just superb.

Important question from someone who hasn't seen the match yet.
How does it compare to Melina vs. Alicia Fox?

Sasha Banks is someone who just gets the business. She is a great worker, a great seller and has her character down to a T.
If WWE messes up her or Owens, I just don't know if I can trust them with anyone.

You know what else shows how good this match is. It was a pro Sash crowd for most of the match, I would say about 70% of them pro Sasha. And Lynch was the one that got the standing ovation (though technically it was for both of them but still you guys know what I mean) as a sign of respect from the fans at the end. Unbelievable

I legitimately believe that if you look at just the past 6 months of ring work that Sasha Banks is the best wrestler in the company, male or female. Not just in-ring work either, her character and ability to make everything she does seem important are top tier too. I've said it a few times but she's everything Del Rio should have been. They pushed him from the start, they gave him accolade after accolade (not the submission), they gave him Ricardo, the cool entrance, the aggression, the technical style mixed with hard hitting moves. Yet he bored everybody, his character rarely felt believable, he was technically sound but robotic in the ring and never felt like the big deal he was portrayed as. Sasha on the other hand started out average in the ring with no real character and built it all herself. Everything she does is in character, she always looks like she's trying to hurt her opponent and aggressively works a body part without sending the crowd to sleep. Now we can add successfully putting over another wrestler even while winning which is something few can manage to do these days. And she's only 23! Imagine if she carries on improving at the rate she has been.

One thing many people don't know was that Becky Lynch/Rebecca Knox was one of the cornerstones of Shimmer Wrestling when it started. She was having some of the best female indy matches in 2005 and early 2006 and was even going to wrestle Daizee Haze in an Ironwoman match at a Shimmer taping, but got a massive concussion and spinal injury that basically knocked her out of wrestling for years. She didn't wrestle from September 2006 until she signed with WWE in 2013. But she was one of the best before her injury. Bingo. Everybody has been talking like she's just learning wrestling...from Sasha Banks who's been in it near ten years less. Regardless, incredible match. Couldn't be more happy for both women.

As I said in the Unstoppable thread, I felt it was the best one-on-one match in WWE this year, and one of the great women's matches in WWE history. Sasha is up there with the best workers in the company, and Becky Lynch was made in this match. I have a feeling the title's earmarked for Bayley, and it still may be, but goddamn whatever way they go (as long as it doesn't fall into the Bliss/Carmella feud, or to Eva Marie), we're going to have greatness emerge whatever.

I thought it was phenomenal. I've been a fan of both girls for a long time, but this was outstanding. I thought it was better than the other NXT Women's Title matches on the live specials and that's nothing against those. Sasha Banks has become my favorite professional wrestler. On a show with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Tyler Breeze, these two ladies outshined them all.

I've said before, to make mainstream fans look forward to women's wrestling, not only do the women have to be presented as legit athletes, but the cutesy nickname (Divas) needs to go away. NXT is really tapping into this very well. That will never happen on the main show as long as Vince is in charge, but given the success of Rousey, it's only smart business to start promoting the women's matches more effectively. Trips is on to something here. Assemble a roster of women who can work, and then mix in the storytelling aspect, and it will draw money. Hopefully NXT is the launching pad for that change in mainstream wrestling.
