Here it is! The big one!
Although some of the names may have changed UFC 187 could still be the strongest overall card UFC holds all year. Sure, some of the names have, but with two title fights, Cowboy in action, heavyweights clashing, and a fun little flyweight opener this show looks like a strong one.
Here are my main card predictions:
Cormier by unanimous decision Weidman by TKO in the second round (I'll be cheering Vitor though) Cerrone by unanimous decision Browne by KO in the first round Benavidez by unanimous decision
Some of those fights were definitely tougher to pick than others. I think DC/Rumble could go either way. What really hurt Cormier in his fight with Jones was his lack of reach and just generally looking like a child next to Jones. The difference isn't quite as pronounced with Rumble, but I could still see it working against him.
As for Weidman/Belfort, I have to root for Vitor out of sheer respect. Literally no one currently in UFC has been at his level for as long as he has been. Also, while I love to cheer for NY guys, Weidman is still just so bland. That said I fully expect Weidman to cream him.

I think Rumble would have beaten Bones by KO. No joke. But I feel like Cormier will wrestlef*** him to a 49-46 decision victory.
I think Weidman takes Vitor apart now that his FounTRTain of Youth is gone.
Cerrone by UD, Brown by TKO and Banvidez by boring UD.

For a substitute fight on fairly short notice, Cormier/Rumble is incredibly fun and unpredictable. Like you implied Rumble has amazing KO power, but the wrestling ability of Cormier is tough to bet against.

I love Vitor. How can you hate an old lion bro? He may get blasted, but much luck to him. Vitor has fought a TON of greats over three weight classes. Now he's fighting for a title. God bless Vitor.
I think DC makes Rumble look bad. Like dump/choke, it's over. Rumble's speed is good, but is it difference making?

I had a pretty good laugh at the countdown special when they showed Vitor's pathetic LHW title "win" over Randy. Nice editing Zuffa Looking forward to this card, is too bad Khabib pulled out but it's still a good one. I got Cormier and Weidman winning.

Well Josh Burkman just gave us a masterclass in how to lose a fight.... Stun you your opponent but then back off so you can then allow yourself to be submitted less than a minute later.

With two potential five rounders let's hope the main show is timed better.

What are the chances JoeJitsu gets a chance to avenge two losses to Mighty Mouse?

Travis Browne has gotten really disappointing in crucial fights. Werdum shredded him for five rounds and now Arlovski destroys him.

Well Josh Burkman just gave us a masterclass in how to lose a fight.... Stun you your opponent but then back off so you can then allow yourself to be submitted less than a minute later. It's like he saw Miesha Tate's horrible attempts to grapple with Ronda Rousey and said "Bro, that's f***ing genius."

Catching up with the Pitbull/Browne fight and yeah it shows you how scary Arlovski's standup is when he fights smart.
