Sometimes news show personality/former governor/minister and fellow Arkansan Mike Huckabee says nothing is served by dragging a good families name through the mud. This is a man who also said Beyonce is too sexual for teenagers. Sexy singer bad, sexy-time with kids is forgivable. Below is the post, I put it in spoilers because it does get religious, but I didn't want to quote the man out of context. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} ... Just a guess, but based on the absence of any words or embedded video behind your spoiler tag, the mods must've deleted or hid whatever it was you tied to share, ammiright? Funny it is showing on my computer as an embedded facebook post. Anyway here is the link... www.f acebook.com/mikehuckabee/posts/10152994543137869 >>>it was still embedding when i tried to just post the link for me. So copy/paste and remove the space from f acebook if you really want to see it.

Please edit your thread. You obviously meant "su-ey." I don't know if this deserves a Boo this Man Gif or Citizen Kane clap Gif.

But FYI, using spoiler tags doesn't make it okay to post things that we don't allow. If your post is heavy on religion (not to mention Huckabee's politics), please don't post it at all.

I don't believe the main argument was political at all and he didn't really rely heavily on religion, it was more that media is bad for exposing a good family. However, he does mention their faith towards the end and I didn't want to post that directly. With cases like and where it is inevitably headed, I understand there is a very close line to walk if we want to discuss it at all and I hope I didn't step over that line, but if I did I apologize and feel free to delete. I just thought his public prominence and the defense he put up was pertinent to the discussion.

TLC is owned by the Discovery people, who also own Destination America, the channel TNA is supposedly getting canceled from. Well, Impact might have found a replacement channel after all. Come on Discovery people, TNA couldn't possibly give you any worse press than some of these other programs.

Even so, I question how "good" any family can be if they can shelter a child molester for years, even after he has molested their own children.

Repeated molestation isn't a 'mistake'. It's a pattern of horrifying behavior.

I can't just blame Josh. He was a child, he shares some of the blame, and I know a lot of children don't do shit like that, but I feel it was more in how he was raised, and even still, how it was handled. I wonder if the there is a statute of limitations here and how the parents could be brought up with charges of child endangerment.

Of all the things that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar did or didn't do the one thing that blows my mind is them allowing Josh to still be around their children. Josh should not be allowed near those kids until they are 18 and they are allowed to make their own decisions. The Learning Channel has gone downhill although I have enjoyed watching The Willis Family. From what I've seen, they still don't get to make their own decisions when they turn 18. They are like mental slaves to their twist ideals.

However, they usually keep those records in case of repeat offences. His record was destroyed. A day before Mike Huckabee said it was. By a judge he appointed. I don't want to post the link, it's getting into dangerous ground and I was a little leary about posting Mike's response, but it's out there with just a google search.

Earlier in the thread, I made a post where I stated that one of the Dugards recorded an anti-gay message stating that homosexuals were pedophiles. That is factually incorrect and I apologize for the error. What happened is one of the Dugards recorded an anti-transsexual message stating that transsexual individuals were pedophiles. Anyone who did their homework would know there is a huge difference, as any gay or transsexual individual will tell you. I should have double checked before posting and I hope I will be forgiven for having made the mistake. No disrespect intended to ANY LGBT individuals.

A friend of mine who is extremely religious and is a huge fan of any Christian show, movie, music piece or main stream Christian pop culture personality, lept into action on Facebook defending the Duggars and the show. I pointed out the Lena Dunham deal and how my friend was on the inside of those wanting boycotts etc. Apparently turn about is not fair play. My assertion was met with rancor and I think she un friended me on Facebook. Point is, we font get to split hairs on something like this. No cherry picking. If you wanted Joe Paterno and Lena Funham to go down in flames than this guys gets the same treatment IMO. You can't make that shit up! You'll also note that a lot of the people coming out to defend the Duggars, offer little to no thought or sympathy for the girls that he molested. I find that level of blatant moral hypocrisy beyond alarming.

What I've learnt from the whole Duggar thing is that the more children you have, the probability of one of them turning out to be a sick pervert approaches one.

I blame him, because he's an asshole, who takes self-righteous and bigoted positions trying to interfere with the personal lives and decisions of other people and openly endorsing discrimination against them.
A truly sorrowful and remorseful person wouldn't be doing all that.

It's a completely fair discussion, but it's a slippery slope when you start looking at how the other kids fit into this. How many siblings knew and didn't say anything? Are there any others like Josh? It's pretty damn disturbing.

The Duggars are raised in an environment which is paradoxically sexually repressive AND hypersexualised. All the girls are taught to be submissive and subordinate, and all the boys are raised to be dominant, especially towards females. It's no surprise that some shit is going to happen, and I have no doubt whatsoever that the girls Josh Duggar abused were blamed for "leading him on" and "tempting him" and so forth. It's the same attitude reflected in dress codes in certain American schools where clothing deemed too "revealing" (ie: anything showing knees or shoulders) is banned because it might sexually excite boys.
