I was disappointed they didn't rehire Chris Masters or Daivari when they did real-life heroic things, both of which would have probably brought the company some publicity. Doesn't help that both guys are good talents, so it's not like if they had to rehire Brakkus or something. They would have probably had Daivari come back as a heel, so no.

Without getting too political, I think a Darren Young super-push when he came out would have thrilled lots of people who don't watch the show but turned off a sizable portion of people who do.

Darren Young coming out was never even mentioned on television. Didn't they elude to it in some way? I could have swore someone congratulated him on commentary in passing.

Darren Young coming out was never even mentioned on television. As I said at the time, and I wasn't the only one, nor should it have been. As a bisexual male, that is not all there is to me. And the second you are 'the gay wrestler' that becomes what you are for life. It's not in his gimmick, it doesn't change his character, it is irrelevant. We should be able to move on with our lives upon finding out that someone likes putting it in a different hole. And then Young if he got a megapush simply for being gay, would be insulting to him ('oh, you're a minority? Have a push then! Doesn't matter if you suck!') and to all the guys who are, quite frankly, better in the ring or on the mic than him. If he organically got over enough and good enough to be in a title match, then and only then should they have acknowledged it on TV, and that would be if his boyfriend was at ringside to support him.

I agree completely with everything you just said. it was a time I was glad WWE didn't milk the living hell out of something.

Darren Young coming out was never even mentioned on television. You're right; it's never been mentioned outright. It has only ever been alluded to. The first time it was alluded to was by Zeb Colter before a match with the Prime Time Players. I don't even remember what Zeb said, but he said so little that it wasn't really controversial and didn't really address the topic in any obvious way. The next time WWE alluded to it was during the recent Prime Time Player skits where they mock the other tag teams. Darren said, "Rainbow is my favorite color".
