what about an invasion the other way round? Some guys not too high on the totem pole in WWE invade NXT paranoid that they are going to take there place Sounds like what Alex Riley might be doing when he gets back from injury. I hope this doesn't happen. I don't think it's really fair for these guys to be made out to be "the bad guys" just because of their backgrounds. Alex Riley is the bad guy because he had the audacity to get signed by WWE without ever stepping foot in an indy ring and for just happening to be a decent looking guy with big muscles? Sure theres a chance he could even surprisingly "arrive" by putting on the match of the night, but turn him heel, and WWE's narrative is telling the WWE/NXT fans that "Alex Riley being successful is a bad thing", and after everything he's gone through, I think that's BS. I wouldn't be happy if his first major victory was pinning Finn Balor with his feet on the ropes while the announcers scream bloody murder about how he "stole one". When Riley finally wins a "big" match, he deserves to have that happy big time emotional face celebration.

It's a nice idea, but at this point in time...no. I feel like the risks greatly outweigh any potential rewards. NXT is going from strength to strength right now and i'd hate to see it spoilt due to creative differences between Triple H and Vince McMahon/Kevin Dunn.

Question for the OP. Do you not like NXT? Do you want the NXT roster to be ruined forever? Because that's what would happen. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE NXT! And I love the idea of invasion angles. I was thinking this could be along the lines of the ECW invasion.

As much as people downplay it, NXT is a WWE show. Any sort of "invasion" angle would be akin to a country declaring war on a single city within that country.

I wouldn't mind a different style of invasion, where it's about respect and the younger talent proving themselves against the older talent, which means that the NXT guys and girls don't come across as heels and they can lose without losing all their credibility. I'd enjoy a build to Summerslam with NXT wrestlers facing off with established WWE talent.
Cena against Balor. Owens against HHH. Sasha against Nikki. Reigns and Ambrose against Blake and Murphy NXT guys vs. WWE guys elimination tag. Ziggler against Breeze.
And the show should be headlined by Lesnar against Rollins. I think there's potential for a really solid card there and it's full of fresh matches that make it feel special like one of the big four should.

Even if you did it with lower-key guys and career midcarders with the intention of having NXT go over, it highlights a major problem with the product. There is an entire roster full of guys who had the unfortunate luck of being trained and debuting in a comparatively poor system and with booking ideas that doomed a lot of careers. If you have guys like Barrett, Ziggler, Kidd, and the like in a feud where they complain about the new generation coming and stealing their spots when their spots by and large suck, you're not telling the story of has-beens, but stories of never-weres. You're highlighting that of the guys who got chances to be main eventers, Punk and Del Rio are gone, Sheamus is down in the midcard being retooled after his failed face run with the WHC, and Bryan is potentially never coming back. The Shield kicks off an era of guys from Triple H's system who now have opportunities behind them and the chance to be booked better, not to mention the greater likelihood of spending the best years of their careers in a product not booked by Vince.
The second a chump like Titus O'Neil gets pushed out of the way for the future when he was never the present, gaping plot holes ensue and the whole thing falls apart.

Wouldn't the Invasion 2.0 be TNA invading after Vince buys it?

"Oh my god! Cena got powerbomed on the apron 3 times in a row!" "He's the only one left on this team, after Big Show turned his back on us!" "He's against Owens, The Demon Finn Bolar, Samoa Joe, Breeze and Sami Zayn" RAPADOOOOOOOO! "Cena overcomes the odds!" "And look! The DX tank is aiming at Full Sail University! *DX tank blows it up* *fade to black*

I'd have Raw invade NXT. Cena leads it looking for Owens but a bunch of others follow for more nefarious reasons.

I don't think it's been 7 years since the Nexus.

If it's anything like the first Invasion angle;
• Make it all about the McMahons squabbling and not about the dream matches fans have been wanting to see for years. • All the NXT guys lose all of their matches to main roster mid carders. • Put main roster main eventers on the NXT side because as previously mentioned, you booked the NXT guys to look like putzes against the main roster mid carders. • Trash it after 6 months and never mention it again.

Nope. There has never been a good 'invasion' storyline.

I just want Hogan to show up on NXT claiming that he's there to take it to the next level, jack. This means promptly pushing a returning Val Venis and Matt Morgan. He needs to convince Triple H to let it run Monday Nights on the Network up against RAW.

It would be more like a Nexus 2.0 at the very best.
