Kel ended up the Marty Jannetty of the two when he obviously had more talent. Never understood how Kenan rose up like that but ah well Remember when Kel jumped out of the Good Burger window just to get away from Keenan? Will you stop!?

Well, it's like they always say, "You ruin everything, Keenan!"

I think SNL has almost always been seen with its current cast sucking, but its past casts being great. We may talk about how great the 90s cast was, but they were hated when they were on the air.

Kenan is still a thing? I thought he disappeared into obscurity after Kenan and Kel like Kel did. In fact I always considered Kel to be the successful one since he was in Clifford and that superhero film with Ben Stiller whereas Kenan I haven't seen in anything. Kenan was in Snakes On A Plane and saved the day.

SNL hasn't been funny for quite sometime now. And it isn't becauses of Kenan Thompson, the comedians as a whole on the show aren't nearly as funny as Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, John Belushi, Will Ferrell, Darrell Hammond, Phil Hartman, etc were when the show revolved around their talents. I agree. I try to watch it once or twice every season and I never enjoy it. I think the only thing I found funny on the show in like a decade was the Avengers parody where they were making fun of Hawkeye.

Kenan Thompson helped make this, so I can't fault him

I like Keenan, and he's been generally good for most of his tenure, but he's reached a point where I don't think his heart is truly in it anymore. If you think about it, he's Tim Meadows circa the late 90's I think SNL has almost always been seen with its current cast sucking, but its past casts being great. We may talk about how great the 90s cast was, but they were hated when they were on the air. Agreed. I actually think the second half of this season was pretty solid, with the cast finding their footing. The writers just need to stop boxing people in and let them do more (I'm looking at you Vanessa Bayer) and they need to stop Kristen Wiig-ing Kate Mckinnon so damn much.

I think two of the bright spots on the show are Leslie Jones and Shasheer Zamata, two cast members SNL almost felt shamed into hiring after they realized they had no black women on the show yet recently added several new white men to the cast. Kenan helped usher in this change as he decided he would no longer play black women on the show while SNL did not have any black women in the cast.

I read a review of the 40th Anniversary special that perfectly encapsulated his style as "pitch it to the cheap seats", which is also pretty much SNL's house style so their long union makes sense to me.

I want to like the dude. I enjoyed him during his Nick run. I feel like he could push through that glass ceiling if he could just put it all together, but SNL is a terrible fed that coasts on it's former popularity.
It's become the ECW or RoH of comedy. People drop in for a cup of coffee on their way to doing real stuff.

SNL - always better five years ago. I'm not sure about everyone else, but the older I get, the further that goes. Now, for me, it's almost 25 years

For me it has nothing to do with the cast members themselves, rather I don't care much for current pop culture as to why I don't watch SNL anymore.
